Thank you. I made some adjustments in RAW but I don't remember purposefully rotating the image, although I might have done that inadvertently. MM.

I did make changes to RAW at first and then I went to JPEG to post it to UHH. I didn't think to post the RAW version for the store original option. The "Protect Highlights" was helpful and your suggestion for denoise options is what I was asking for advice about. Your Slower and Better Denoise option and the change of the Intensity level to 5 is what I am unfamiliar with. I shoot both RAW and JPEG with my 7200. Thank you for your quick response. MM

I rarely post. I'm just a hobbyist and I don't have the skill level of you hard-core shooters. This is my first ever moonshot. I know, it leaves a lot to be desired. If you folks would suggest a few NX Studio settings to correct this flawed image, like how to correct the burned-out left side of the moon and just a few other setting changes that a novice could handle, I would appreciate your help. MM

I had the same thing happen to me Fri. night. I went out to shoot the full moon, had my DSLR set on a tripod and used remote to activate the shutter and I consistently had either a soft golden-tinged moon or straight-up white moon and I changed nothing on the camera.

Just a thought. I bought a Kenko 1.4 TC for my Nikon lenses and while the results are sometimes hit or miss (won't AF all the time on zooms) it is a cheap "experimental" option. The results are respectable on my 300mm F/4 and my 70-200mm. I'm not a pro, my D7200 and I are little better than P&S but I keep on trying to improve. I bought the TC for $125.00 off Amazon.

I bought a Kenko 1.4 TC to use with my Nikon lenses for $125.00 off Amazon. As people have mentioned, you will lose an f/stop or two and zoom lenses can be a challenge, but this is a cheap option to use in your quest for pics. I use it on my 300mm F/4 and my 70-200mm F 1:2.8E. I'm not a pro, my D7200 and I are little better than P&S, but you can refine whatever keepers you achieve with photo editing. My reasoning is, if you can spend hundreds or, God forbid, a thousand dollars or more for a lens (I did), what's $125.00 bucks? It sure beats Nikon's prices for their TC.

I bought one a couple of years back when Nikon ran a sale with $450.00 off. Still cost 2 grand but it is my mack daddy lens.

I have a question in regards to a Nikkor 300 1:4E PF ED I bought used last year. I see nothing about AF-S on the barrel. In general terms, how does this lens rate with the other 300's I see cited here that have AF-S?
