Download the Z8 Reference manual in the PDF format. Use text-search for "histogram". The info / reference on page 683 is probably the detail you should be reviewing.

Thanks!

Traveling to Iceland and I can already see the need for wide angle low light lens.

I am not a landscape photographer so I want a decent lens in the 12 to 18mm that wont break the bank if I bi buy used.

Thanks to any ideas

Hi ggttc,

Not sure what system you are using but if your'e using a Nikon I would reccomend the 14mm-24mm. It a bit large but the sharpness is incredible.

How do you set the self timer on the Nikon z9?

Hi Panfish 27,

If it's the same as a Z8, go to the top left hand side and push the screen button. You will see a release mode screen on your monitor. Scroll the command dial until you see self timer comes on then pick seconds you want.

Hi Bruce,

I think she has the real thing. They are pretty large.

Hello Robert;
Thank you for your kind words of support...
They truly mean a lot coming from a very gifted commercial photographer.
And also a current member of Nikon Professional Services... I've long enjoyed your contributions here on UHH.

We both are on the same page in regard to Nikon's incredible Swiss Army Knife the AF-S 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6 ED IF VR Nikkor. I would never have thought of putting this up for sale however I'm no longer able to accept location assignments. Limited to Studio only moving forward.

That said I've posted a correction of my previous statement that this lens might not be a good choice for BIF...
Below is an incredibly gifted BIF "Ballerina in Flight". Grace ask if we could collaborate on a "Ballet in the Field" narrative... The rest is history... She dances professionally and this Nikkor was totally up for her request.

Wishing you all the best on your epic journey Robert

AF-S 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR Nikkor (Price: $650 obo)
Original Owner (Comes with everything Nikon shipped with it New)
Condition: equivalent to (B&H 9+ shows little to no signs of wear)
Condition: equivalent to (eBay Mint: Almost no signs of use)

In the Box:
Nikon AF-S 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR Nikkor Lens
77mm Nikon LC-77 Snap-On Lens Cap
Nikon LF-4 Rear Cap
HB-50 Bayonet Lens Hood
CL-L1120 Ballistic Nylon Soft Lens Case
14-Day No Hassle Return (from Date of Delivery; Buyer pays Shipping both ways)
Extra: 77mm Luminesque UV Filter (New w/ box and case)

This Nikkor is ideal for portraiture; outdoor events i.e weddings etc., street & photojournalism.
It excels at Landscape genre and is considered one of the very best Travel Lenses available.

Possibly the most popular Hobbyist FX Nikkor produced in the past decade...
It's a joy to use, and having up to four stops of VR makes it easy to capture outstanding results.

However please realize it simply isn't optimal for indoor events/sports etc. (requires Speedlights in poor illumination)
Its relatively slow aperture compromises focus speed/accuracy in challenging lighting scenarios and diminishes it's usefulness for Wildlife Genre Imagery.

Best Advice? For those who may need to shoot commercially (a.k.a. consistent publication quality/highest resolution) there may be better (but pricier) options available from Nikon; Sigma; Tamron; and Tokina.

Please download the images below in as they reveal and corroborate this lens' exceptional condition and acuity.
The Sample Images also bare witness to this Nikkor's amazing attributes... A virtual Swiss Army Knife Optical Wonder that focuses down to 1.6 ft. (0.5m) throughout it's entire zoom range!

Questions or Concerns? Please place your query in this thread (so other may benefit) or PM me directly if you wish to remain anonymous. Wishing all much joy and success on your photographic journey.
