EaseUS recovery does work. Unfortunately I know that first hand. About $60.00 though for a month. Recuva is free but it only pulled 18 pics of my damaged 684. I use dual slots and swap cards at the end of each shoot. I thought they had downloaded them to their hard drive but hadn't and they wrote over their cards thinking I have them. I will be able with EaseUS to pull back everything but it is a time consuming process. If you aren't tech saavy check with a computer repair shop and decide if the photo is worth the price.

Eventually. It will remove a fog from the lens in your eye (1/3 to 1/2 stop of haze). It takes weeks though before the healing process is over and a new glasses correction can be fine tuned. You will be very glad you went through it then, but for now please use any swear words you are comfortable with. Doug, ABOC. Optician btw. (the ABOC technically stands for Ass Backward Optician Certification) actually American Board Opticianary Certification might be the real one.

Here is a simple analogy I think many miss. The camera always shoots raw but when it is set to jpg the internal computer in the camera converts it and you don't see the raw file. If you have noise reduction, vibrancy, or other settings in the camera it will process the image for you. The advantage to shooting raw is that now you are using a larger computer to process it from raw to jpg. This gives you more control and computing power. If you aren't into editing you are better off shooting jpg as the camera processor is OK. Shooting raw +jpg gives you the option that if you get into editing later you have more to work with.

Ignore the image quality as this is from my phone. But people are people. Find out what they are into and incorporate their hobbies or interests.

My take on editing without cropping. The glare on the painting was very distracting to me so I cloned the arm from the left painting, flipped and blended it into the center painting along with some skin color correcting.

What are the pros and cons of doing that vs. unsharp mask or smart sharpen? I ask because that's a new one for me.

That's a really good question and I am unsure. I learned this and have never tried the others. Unfortunately I am just a monkey repeating this process and have a rudimentary understanding of it.

Digital is overall getting so sharp that editing programs are adding a texture feature so that you can make it look more film like.

In Photoshop make a duplicate layer. Convert the top layer to black & white. On the top layer goto filter, other, Highpass... move the slider all the way to the left (should see a blank grey picture) and move the slider to the right until just an outline of the detail you want sharpened appears. Then on the top layer change the blend mode to "Overlay".

Welcome. I share many of those interests and would encourage you to volunteer at a Sci/Fi Anime Convention like I do. They appreciate the help for their website and social media and I get to practice, practice, practice, improving my skills.

I have an image of a friends business's 25th anniversary so it can't be re-shot. 100 people out on a sidewalk in front of his shop. (image is at home and I am at work) Any way to get the F16 and Shutter at 160 for depth of field and no motion blur the ISO was 2000 on a Nikon D750. The owner likes the shot and is now talking about a wall size banner 8 feet tall. The image is noisy in the shadows without any de-noising but otherwise good. What I would like to know from you guys is should the image be de-noised and edited then resized, or resize to the desired size and resolution then de-noise?

I know in Wyoming your property line goes up 150 feet, because 20 years ago my Grandfather put three bullets into the wing of a crop duster and the Sheriff had to agree with Grandpa that the plane was legally trespassing.

How high above your property is it still considered your property ? Is there an altitude upper limit for drones per FAA... ? All of this will be very interesting as these become more and more prevalent.
