Here's a candid portrait of my little friend, Wot.

I just bought a new lens, the ultralight Canon RF100-400mm f/5.6-8 IS USM, for some long walking, wildlife spying & macro-esque sessions in good weather. I have to agree with Ken Rockwell (https://www.kenrockwell.com/canon/eos-r/lenses/100-400mm.htm#good), after just a few photographs I can say that there's absolutely NOTHING that I don't like about this lens.

One days usage now has me wondering why I've stuck with L-series lenses all these years.

Those appear to be NA-Rockwell OV10A Bronco’s, over a Vietnam-era SAM radar array.

For me, the last photograph has the most impact. Because that’s a photograph, that tells a story.

How is it that a modern nation can be so broken that it allows its heroes to fall through the cracks of its so-called Welfare System? What does that say about We The People? Are we that shallow, that we support the political elites call for military action, but don’t hold those same political elites accountable for the after care of those we send to do our dirty work?

I’m not normally a buyer of street photography, but if you message me with what you want for that last photograph (B&W), I will do you a deal. I pay you, on condition you find and pay the subject in the photograph. My side of the bargain? I will have that picture hung on the wall of my State Capitol Building.

Lest we forget.

During tonight's NBC Christmas Special from Rockefeller Center in New York, host Kelly Clarkson mentioned a charitable organization called 100cameras.org. The organization uses "Photography to allow[] children an unfiltered medium through which to express their voices, . . . serve as a window into their experience [and] . . . become active participants in [society]." The organization partners with schools and other entities here in the United States and abroad.

I had not been aware of this organization, and "Giving Tuesday" is over, but it's mission would seem to align with the avocation and profession of photography, and it might be worthy of consideration for end-of-year charitable contributions from any UHH members so inclined. I for one can certainly support interesting the younger generation in photography.

In addition to accepting donations as a 501c3, the organization raises funds by selling prints of images made by kids who participate in the program.

Thanks for that introduction. Here’s the website link: https://www.100cameras.org/

Nice shot. A bit saturated in the skin tone for my taste. I agree that her expression is much more erotic characteristic of the post-70s than the winsome or innocent expressions of the 50s. And the Stingray is iconic early-mid 60s. Good fun.

Agreed, I went for an over-saturated processing flow as this is as close as I can get to some of the Ektachrome work of the 70’s that I so much admire. It’s definitely not a look that enhances all genres of art nude, but I feel this experiment kinda works?

Great shot and I enjoy full figured models. Definitely reminds me of a 50s pin up calendar picture.

Thanks, that’s the concept I was aiming for.

This is really nice and I love the look on her face, I wish you had not cropped so much of the bottom of the image. I love to see more of her. Thank you for sharing.
Bruce.

Glad you liked this Bruce and I apologize for the cropping. In my defense, if I hadn’t cropped, I think Admin would have fielded a bunch of complaints… culminating in me being kicked off this forum.

If anyone knows differently, private message me with details of the “boundaries of UHH good taste”. 😉

It’s looking like she’s swapped the cheesecake 50’s for Life Magazine’s 70’s “Torrent of Sexuality”.

Here’s a more sensually suggestive portrait than Bicycle Babe I & II, with a little post processing to suggest the era of the banana bike saddle. Plus some cropping to convert from erotica to NSFW.

I love your work. Are you one and the same, a couple in RL or just a wonderful partnership between photographer and model??

A very professional model, with my slight skills as a photographer added in.

Nice work, you two.

Thanks, and I didn’t have too much work to do. Just attention to detail and placement of myself & camera to get the best light, and then it’s all down to good shutter button technique. I always seemed to be blessed with the most wonderful, beautiful, and professional models, they are the ones putting in most of the work.
