Great pics. Tell me about your boat, was it a tour? Did you rent a fishing boat? From where? Id like to duplicate that trip
Thx

We went on on the Northern Dream. I would wholeheartedly recommend it. If my husband would agree, I’d definitely go a third time. You can find their info on line. Once you’re on the boat everything is included. If you can let them know anything you are particularly interested in ahead of time, do so.
If you persue this, please let the captain Jay know you that I recommended it.
I know you’d have a fantastic time!

Last month my husband and I visited Alaska for the second time on a 64' boat with only six passengers. We had a great time . . fishing for halibut, crabbing, watching the whale and seeing the Grizzlies fish for salmon. Naturally I took a ton of pictures . . . here are a few of my favorites.

We got one from BLM in CA. She was 4 months old when she was rounded up by helicopter; six months when we got her. She never did get used to helicopters.

I don’t blame her! She was no doubt ripped away from her family.

We bought on from BLM in CA. They have advertised sales a few times a year at differing locations. When we bought you signed paperwork saying you wouldn't sell before a year and at some point a BLM representative would show up unannounced to check up on the horse. They later implemented a program giving $1000 to adopters as incentive. Turned out many people immediately sold them at auction with a large number going to kill buyers. One family bought approx 30 horses altogether. So terribly sad.

I know what you’re saying is true! I just wish they’d let them be!!!

Gorgeous captures of these beautiful animals, especially your first image.

My understanding is that the BLM rounds these animals up, periodically, and put them up for adoption. Only those that couldn't be adopted are put out to permanent pasture. Is that what actually happens to these animals?

I believe that is correct but it's hard to find people to adopt them and I think "putting them out to pasture" is an exaggeration. Pasture to these horses would mean lots of room to roam, not in a corral somewhere.
