I store all of my photos on a Mac Mini Docking Station. You can install a SSD inside the Docking Station and then back up to your removable Samsung drive using Carbon Copy Cloner. This way you can safely store your back up drive off site.
ON1 Photo Raw is nothing like Luminar Neo. I prefer Luminar Neo as a raw editor for my colour landscape images because I can bring out more details in the shadows. For most of my B&W images I use ON1 Effects 2023.5 as a plugin with Affinity Photo.
Your a professional photographer thats now retired. I'm about to join you after more than four decades as a landscape photographer. Whats more important for me is finding the self motivation to move forward.
If your prints are to dark your monitor is to bright. Your Mac will need to be calibrated. Alternately you could try turning the brightness down and adjust your images ever time you wont to make a print.
