Sam gave me permission to share this image with you. I also am sharing my image from 2014.
Sorry for the confusion, these were taken in September of 2020. Certainly one of the roughest roads I have been on.
And the scramble down to the creek wasn't much better. There is a you tube video from Gavin Hardcastle that features this also. Not sure the year that he went.

Great pics! Is there any way you can post one of Sam’s pics of Crystal Mill? I am curious to see how much it has changed since I was there in 2016. It is on my list of places to visit again but maybe that time has passed.
I visited in 2019 and they were charging $10.00 to go down the hill to the river side. I thought that was a little high, but paid anyway. I can post a couple for comparison if it's OK with everyone. I don't want to tromp on someone else's thread.
Really nice set! As a Durango native, and still here, I like seeing other people enjoy our mountains. Like previously mentioned, there is a lot of variety in the state. I enjoy the deserts of New Mexico for a change from what I see every day. BTW. I use Walgreens for my yearly calendars. They print on an actual photo paper. Watch for coupons, i usually am around $10/each.
Yes! Thanks. I appreciate it.
Thank You everyone for your kind comments. Dennis, my close 2nd choice would be Dunes 3. I'm going to try lightening the foreground slightly on both of them, when I get time...
Hopefully these show up! It's ben a while since I posted like this. Anyway, I spent a couple days last weekend around the Great Sand Dunes last weekend.

You are right about that! We got about .08 inch of rain this afternoon in Durango. Typical of the start of monsoon season. Not much, but better than hot and dry.
Being a Colorado resident for 63 years. There is a monsoon season: Predictable afternoon showers. We are just entering this season. However, as previously stated, there has already been 1 mudslide on I-70 recently. This has been a continuous problem on that stretch of road since it was built. It has gotten worse since the latest fires. Travel in Colorado has always been dangerous at times, and will continue to be so. That's how we native Coloradoans like it. Try Red Mountain Pass during a snow storm/white out sometime. Quite exciting! So check your road conditions and adjust your travel plans/route accordingly.
Pat, At one time I repaired flat panel TV's(Among other electronics). The older TV's had a CFL panel of lights that needed to be removed for recycling. There was a Frosted white panel and a thicker black panel that needed to be removed to get to the lights. I have used those two panels for various projects over the years. Check your TV repair shops in your area and see if they know what I'm talking about, and can get you something out of a burnt up TV.
Thanks Pat. Gotta love the snow, if we want to have anything to drink this summer.
One from a couple of weeks ago, bringing the new(To me) car back from Albuquerque. And a few from a snowy Sunday last week.
