I was really pulled into the mood of the second photo. It reflects the feeling in this time of the year when nature starts it's "slumber period". A realistic painting comes to mind. Love it.

Thanks so much everyone. Totally forgot Creative Live which I have purchased several classes from. You tube also, I have learned many things by watching. I just thought that since the D500 is discussed so frequently there could be a "workbook" to follow and document the process and results in one location. A journal comes to mind. With camera and laptop in hand here I go. Thanks fellow members you have been very helpful, and I appreciate the time you gave. Will update later.
Happy 1st of November (year almost gone) rainy and cold in Indy with leaves coming down in grooves.

Thank you so much for the leads and taking the time to help. Not all members (due to an earlier member response) are so helpful and kind. Quoting "99%" of UHH members would say use the internet and why ask such a question. Thank you for being the 1% and suggesting some resources.Appreciated.
Have a fun Halloween.

Does anyone know if there is a link where I could find a follow along instruction course for The d500. The guide would go thru the different options and what basic settings to begin with in different shooting situations. Lens suggestions need to be included and being able to use ones owned. Instructions to follow in a situation, whether it be portraits, inside, outside, fast action low light etc) a basic starting point is suggested then it would have you continue to follow other settings to fine tune and see. The exercises would detail for example, set the aperture on .... then take a shot, then change the aperture to.... or maybe the shutter adjustment if that didn't work. Setting, shooting then seeing the results with direction. Then if needs more corrections other options would be suggested and listed., ISO shutter speed etc. to try. Maybe this would more of a workbook to guide and to follow exercises that show the different results that occur. List of assignments in specific situations to test the setting options and which lens to try and see and learn to get the results you want.

Thank you for any assistance you can offer.
Happy Halloween.

I was so blessed after your initial photos of these horses (some weeks back) that we also saw them on our first visit to Salt River. We really lucked out and came upon them on our first stop. We sat down and they came to us about 5 feet away. I was in heaven. There were about 7 in that group with 3 across the river including a colt with mom. We must have been boring because they just walked :). No "horseplay". Because of you this was one of my highlights of my trip. Forever grateful. Keep posting and see if you can capture the baby.

What a beautiful walk you had to capture all of these great shots. Would love to have one with all these different subjects! Really was drawn to your flower compositions, worth framing. They were so elegant but simple. Keep walking and share.

Roberts Camera in Indianapolis has used equipment. They have a great website with new and used equipment. I have done lots of business with them and have never been disappointment. We are very fortunate to have them located here. Check them out.

So impressed that your shots were through a window. You must have the cleanest windows or used the healing tool to remove spots on the pane. Love them!

Which XQD card is the best for the D500? I have read reviews for the Sony and Lexar and seems like a toss up between the two. Appreciate any thoughts on this. Thanks

Thank you so much. I have looked at many sites to volunteer with captured mustangs to "rehab" and to get adopted. I want to educate myself with the breed in order to plan a photo trip and capture the fabulous photos you shot. By any chance are you familiar with any horse ranches that you can rent and ride to see these beautiful creatures? Again, appreciate your help. (I'm sure from my questions you can tell I am an AVID horse lover).

Doing the snowbird thing again this year and got here a bit early so it is still pretty hot! But that didn't stop me from going out looking for the wild horses! Found these the first day out!

Where were you in Arizona? This is a dream of mine to see and photograph mustangs. Were you with a tour or just on your own? Looks like you knew where to go to see these beautiful animals!!Any information would be appreciated. Heading out to Phoenix in one week. Appreciate any information.

John is great. Hope other members can help you answer your question. I know John expressed his use with this lens and the need for him to produce this "correction" in his raw image shooting vs. PP. Also stating some of these cannot be achieved in Photoshop.
