Wish to buy an original round, leather covered case for an M42 mount Pentax SMC 85mm lens.

Fresh film is available, but probably not from your average drug store. Yes, it takes some effort, but the film and chemistry are still available.

I'm an old fart who converted to digital. I love it for many of the reasons already stated, but I still shoot film. Yes, film is more expensive and many of my old film favorites are no longer available. But, a broad range of films can still be ordered from B & H and other major camera chains.

When I first got into photography as a hobby, I bought 35mm film in 100 foot rolls and rolled my own cassettes. I still do. I also develop my b/w film in a daylight tank. It really isn't too hard to do.

The big difference is that I don't enlarge and print any more. I now scan all my film with an Epson film scanner. Once my film is in the digital format I can do an amazing amount of the post processing at my computer. If I choose to shoot color negative film or slides, again, I can then scan those rolls after they've been developed by photo labs.

By no means is film vs digital an either/or choice. Quit throwing bows and arrows at each other and use all of today's tech to live in both worlds.

I too place Joe Pass at the front of line, and there are truly so many great ones.

The only reason I would now drive north to Idaho would be to buy a lottery ticket (but I'm not that dumb). The only other times I occasionally drive into Idaho are when my wife and I are driving to or from our oldest daughter's home in Gig Harbor, WA.

I do, unfortunately, get the impression from your UHH postings that Idaho is full of right-wing red neck nuts like you. Really though, when I think of Idaho, I think of wonderful potatoes, and that keeps my thinking positive.

Now, besides the high blood pressure med I'm going to take a sleeping pill to get to sleep tonight. I just hope I don't wake up tomorrow morning and find out we're having an atomic war with North Korea.

If we're all lucky the worst of it will be that Trump's golf course in Florida will be under three feet of water because of global warming. Or later on, it might also become a reality that touring the Empire State Building will require entering on the 15th floor from a boat and then tourists will have to climb to the top using stairs because all of Manhattan will all be abandoned and under water.

The up side will be that we will no longer be unloading cargo containers from China because all of the off-loading facilities on the west coast will also be underwater. At that point all manufacturing will be done in the USA and "America will be great again."

I can only hope that I die first.

P.S. If you want to see Venice, do it soon while it is still above sea level.

While a 50MM lens was my first and only lens for many years when my hobby was born in 1967, I've since decided that a 55mm more accurately represents what I actually see. I can look through the viewfinder with my right eye and look at my subject with my left eye at the same time and it looks like I'm looking at the subject without having a camera view from my right eye.

Your pics are all great....but the last one is a great example of the 1930's Art Deco movement.

Love those googly eyes in shot #2. I've always loved jumping spiders. Fine shooting.
