Because I don't really get how all this works...

Very well done NS. It's always nice to have a raised foot.

I am wondering why you check the 'store original'? It seems like the download image is smaller than the basic posted image ... unless my browser is playing tricks.

I was watching for ducks at the pond by my house and noticed this snipe peeking at me. Pretty heavy crop but I've had trouble with shorebirds so I was happy to catch it.

The grebes at Barr Lake in Colorado are finished with the mating dance now and are busy nesting. I caught this nest today along with a grebe defending its nesting area.

Thank you all for your comments and for viewing the photo. I was actually trying to capture some burrowing owls and the kingbird just happened by and posed for a few seconds. The owls were there but too far away to get anything good. I really like it when you think you are doing one thing and life presents a whole different way to win.

Thanks for looking and commenting imagemeister. The bluejay was jumpy as usual, tough catch for me. The owl sits outside a nest for most of the day, every day.

It was about 4 in the afternoon on a gray day. That adult sat on that post for at least 4 hours, never moved. I was wishing for a Colorado blue sky. The baby is just getting to where he'll peek out a bit. This nest is running quite a bit behind the rest in the area.

I like the wooden mining structure the best. It might look really good cropped to remove the light colored pile in the front and move the building a bit to the left in the cropped frame. Cropping would also serve to make the building just a touch larger. Really cool photos and I live in Colorado and see this stuff so much I hardly look at it anymore. Thanks for bringing it back to my attention.

Nice set Regis, as always. Did you have to do any microfocus adjustments to get sharp photos with the 1.4x III and your 100-400 IS II? I just can't get anything sharp with the same combination. The 100-400 IS II is incredibly sharp alone.
