A path leading into the distance, perhaps in a forest or a garden
I like fill flash and have used it with an extender to light up the undersides of the wings of birds in flight, particularly white birds. I am always really disappointed when I see a very nice flight capture with too much shadow under the bird's wings. Fill flash would have eliminated that. You can also create some nice high key images on a cloudy day photographing white birds using fill flash.
crphoto - There are some kids' photography books for sale on Amazon.com, particularly one from National Geographic. Check it out.
I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop that I take on the road and absolutely love it! It's about 4-5 years old and still works great.
Posting a photo of an overweight female is not only in poor taste, but it's downright rude. Underlying medical conditions are NO JOKE! Some people have medical conditions making it impossible to improve their physique. Actually, you are ALL sitting at your computers right now, right? Doing what? Making inappropriate jokes and nuances.
Thank you, architect 1776. You are right on! I assisted with teaching a state park's kids' 3-day photo camp last summer. The kids were 10-14 years old. They were great! Just got feedback this week on some of the kids who are 4-H club members and they are quoting the teachers from the camp to their 4-H photo club. One set of parents told me the kids entered a marine biology contest and placed with honorable mentions, second and third place awards. Their photography, which, yes, they were already interested in, noticeably improved. One of the things we did for them was to place specimen taxidermied wildlife on a trail for them to practice photographing in a natural setting. Just think what one student could learn with your one-on-one instruction, daplight !!! Go for it!!!
Shame on you...this is a teenager. He/She won't ask for help because they don't have access to help or even realize their own potential. They need guidance. Why does it always have to be about money ????????
Time spent with a young person, even if they only learn one thing, is never a waste of time.
You could also check out Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge located also in Boynton Beach, just west of West Palm Beach. They have a short boardwalk through a cypress stand, a tram tour and a visitor center.
Wakodahatchee Wetlands is in Boynton Beach and easily accessible with a boardwalk and some benches if your father gets tired. Go early in the morning for parking this time of year. Don't leave anything in your car at either Wako or Green Cay Wetlands which is also a board walk but much longer with a visitor center. Restroom facilities at both places and both are convenient to shopping and restaurants. Wildlife at Wakodahatchee includes nesting birds such as anhinga, wood storks, egrets, great blue herons, green herons, cormorants, glossy ibis and white ibis, whistling ducks, mottled ducks, warblers, night herons, and more. You may see breeding iguanas, turtles (softshell and sliders) and alligators. Check out their Facebook page "Wakodahatchee Wetlands and Green Cay Wetlands"
Son and husband built a gaming computer for my photography as a gift, and it's exactly what I wanted. Very fast.
I usually go in mid-April for wildflowers.
I ruined a pair of coated eyeglass lenses using the Zeiss cleaning wipes. The lenses were under warranty and replaced at $20 per lens. I asked the seller prior to use if it would be safe to use the Zeiss wipes on my glasses and was told yes. The eyewear retailer explained later that the Zeiss wipes are an excellent product, but should not be used for coated eyeglass lenses. However, it is just fine to use them on sunglasses.
I also have the Nikon 105mm and the Sigma 180mm as I previously stated and always go to the 180mm first. I can stand farther back from my subject with less chance of disturbing it.
I use the Sigma 180mm Nikon mount for macro, and absolutely love it.
