Sad but a wonderful job of documentation by Jarid, he has my sympathy. My Mom is in a nursing home and I see every chance I can and photograph her also. Those photos will be all we can share.

Thanks for that terrific video link. He really brings posing to life. I will watch that video many times to get the technique down. Thanks again very informative.

Still into name calling, I see. It's OK. My links are already listed on my profile. And I don't plan to remove them. I'll post a much longer reply later today, since you seem to imply I am lying about Haas, etc. Not hard to find ones email address either, but that has a junk option.

Frederdane - You are missing the point. No one cares who you say you know. No one except you.

If you think I am rude on the open forum, beleive me you will not like the replies you will get in a private message.

have some balls and post your comments here...

psst.... a canon 40D is not top quailty equipment, it's a 10 mega pixel camera... if you are going to question the "quality of my images in respect to the quality of my equipment" it's best to know what equpment is being used. Also it's best to make sure when you reference your work it's saying it's superior to mine, that it is of the same subject matter and actually of the same quailty or better. How can one compare traffic cone photos to photos of children?

Just saying..... you don't want me to post your name or your flickr account do you???

Hurrah for your pounding reply. I hate people who judge other peoples work. I am sure if were there when Michael Angelo painted that ceiling we could have added something, but the reality is He created it just as each of us create what our vision is. Art is in the eye of the beholder and everyone has their own likes and dislikes. If a member can not post a critisism without being desending then they should keep their mouth shut.
I didn't need to view the offenders pictures to make this comment I am only addressing the crude way in which he speaks. Maybe he should go else where.

btw Nice hot comment MWAC in response.

I have been asked to take portraits in a retirement community. For those of you very proficient in Photoshop, can you give me some tips or sites to look on best practices on optimizing an older persons portrait. I can find tons of info on children and younger families etc. but I haven't found anything that really helps with older set. I have no desire to make a person look unrealistic, no matter what age, but I don't mind removing blemishes and smoothing chapped skin on babies. Any ideas?

Here is a tutorial to help put a soft glow to the photos:

if you check out some of the other tutorials they use different procedures you can adapt your own steps. Experiment and have fun.

WatchWinder, I would be glad to help you out if you have a special bracketed image that you want to try in HDR. Send me a PM and we can do this through e-mail.

Question: How do you send someone a PM on UHH?
Just click on the name above the person's avatar you wish to pm. On the 4th line down, it says, "private messages: send pm" underlined and in bold lettering. Just click on that and there you go!

Thanks for the information, just learned something new...

Whoa !! What a catch. How big were these suckers ? Snakes are obviously numerous, like they've been warning about. Great shots.

Some one told me it was a Boar. People are just letting their pets loose in the canals and scrub areas. It is really alarming as I was walking out of the preserve a huge black snake scurried right across my path, I almost stepped on him. Couldn't get the camera up fast enough to get that one. Don't know what kind of snake he was.

Nice highjack carlreno,
Is that an alligator or a crock

It's an Alligator, right near me in Loxahatchee, Boynton Beach. Highway 441/route 7. About 2 miles north of Atlantic Ave Delray Beach. I was really lucky to get so many great shots.

somehow, I'm pretty sure vodka was involved in this, I was talked into doing a photo session for people other than my own children. Now I've taken pictures of friends children, no problem but this is a little different.

I've been talked into doing not one but 4 different boudoir type photo sessions for a friend and 3 of her friends.... god dam it...

My friends keep trying to push me into hanging a shingle and stop doing photo sessions for free, one of my friends (the ring leader in this little fiasco) gets upset every time she finds out I did another unpaid session for a friend, so in an effort to give me a push she feed me vodka (lots of vodka), took me dancing and now says I agreed to this.

I'm not mad at her, I really did needed the push. I'm just really nervous about giving them the results they are expecting and not being able to help them pose without looking foolish or trashy.

I can do this right????

Think positive and get it done. You'll have fun and prove to yourself you are ready for anything. Boudoir sessions can be a lot of laughs and wild poses. Have fun, I used to bring a smoke machine to add to the drama. I've seen your work and you have nothing to be upset about, your very good.

Nice shots, in the 3rd one Taste the Rainbow, looks like a ram or sheep next to the rainbow. Great capture.
