This stream originates from run-off of Monte Santo mountain, Huntsville, AL.
Depending on the weather, it can be trickling or roaring.

Nice! Like the color.

I like colorful photos myself. Once tried black and white, but the visual impact was missing.
(I acknowledge that there are some really great B/W photos out there.)

Sad, but loaded with character and memories⭐⭐⭐

No doubt. Some relatives will get a nice house for free.

The city of Melk is located on the Mosel, one of the two major rivers draining central Germany.
The Abbey overlooks the river. Great view from above.

My mistake: Yes, Melk Abbey is located on the Danube, not the Mosel. I actually knew better, but was thinking of a seperate abbey which IS on the Mosel when I wrote that. (beer may have been involved)

This solitary house, on a secondary road in east-central Alabama, is being reclaimed by nature.
Don't think it would take much money to get it back in ship-shape.

Don't know the story, but understand elderly owners died.

My visit was in 2010 from an Avalon Waterways cruise of the Danube River (not the Mosel). Your photo from below is very interesting and well done. My tour did go through the Abbey and I posted a number of photos back in Nov 2020.

I visited the Abbey when I lived in Germany. Much later, I visited it again on trip down the Danube.

I take lots of photos of old abandoned houses around my rural Alabama area to post on "Forgotten Alabama" website. This house is on a state hwy 49 south of Dadeville.

I visited on a river cruise, many years after I had visited while living in Germany as a US soldier.

Great image. Looks like a fixer upper?

Too far gone. The house was reduced to a shell.
