You can bet that the individual cells inside that DeWalt 20V pack and the power packs of other brands are all the same anyway; what differs is the outside package and the connector system. Now, if I could just open that "battery" and swap out the cells inside...
Safety, product liability are important to manufacturers.......The high current flow in tool battery packs precludes
"press-fit" interchangeability......Connections need to be soldered, welded, or otherwise designed to handle these
high currents.
