I disagree. The creators of the software have created a tool which others can use to create imagery. The copyright status of these AI images may not be fully established, but I would be surprised if the creators of the software would own the copyright to all those images. I haven't heard of the AI companies claiming a copyright.

It has long been the posture of the U.S. Copyright Office that there is no copyright protection for works created by non-humans, including machines. Therefore, the product of a generative AI model cannot be copyrighted as of this writing.

Looks to be a lot better organized than it was back when we were there. Nice work!

You're equipment is more than capable of capturing award winning images. First and foremost, I suggest you focus (pun intended) on capturing the best image possible. Later, when you return home, worry about learning lightroom.

Lightroom is actually quite easy to learn and use. There are many free youtube tutorials teaching how to use every aspect of lightroom. There are many people on this site that can help with specific questions and techinques regarding the use of lightroom.

However, the key to bringing home those award winning images is camera technique. I would suggest immersing yourself in Steve Perry's videos. He has a website (and a UHH member) called BackCountry Gallery. It is dedicated to teaching wildlife photography using Nikon equipment, such as yours. Much of his examples are from his trips to the forests of Central America.

Have a great time in Brazil and hope to see some of your images in future posts.

What he said. And by all means, shoot RAW + Jpeg so that you'll have those RAW images to work on later.

Several years ago my wife and I drove from what was then our home in Holly, MI, to the upper peninsula to Iron River which is only a short drive from my wife's hometown of Crystal Falls. Roughly 500 miles. Our primary destination was the Riverside for pizza. When we had finished the first and ordered a small second pie our waitress smiled inquisitively. Hoping to give her a bit of a surprise I told her that we had come 500 miles for this pizza. Her response was, "Yeah, we hear that all the time." https://www.riverside-pizzeria.com/

I haven't heard the clip, but on the basis of your description I'd guess that it's the subject of the documentary "Let's Get Lost." His recording of "Everything Happens to Me" is a great example of his ballad approach.

This tune was my introduction to Lee Morgan as a young pre-teen and I remember as clearly as day the first time I heard it. I didn't know what 24-bar blues was then, but I sure dug the form. This tune was a very successful commercial venture I'm assuming because of its very catchy head. A truly fine talent tragically having left us at a very young age. Thanks for the memories.

Fully 99% of the photos I took while there were with my 24/105. Very little need for long telephoto.

Thanks for sharing. This is my first exposure to this artist. Very impressive. The 2nd and 3rd selections reminded me of the old Charlie Parker with strings albums that unintentionally emphasized the contrast between featured artist and his accompanists.

As long as you have a passport you could do the Lake Superior Circle Tour. The Map of the route is here. It'll probably be a bit chilly as early as you want to travel but you certainly won't have the crowds. Especially nice are the Keweenaw Peninsula. and the north shore of the UP of Michigan. Many, many parks surround the lake.

Excellent suggestion. Best in the fall, however. It's spectacular in a good year.

Fine trumpet sound. My introduction to his playing was as featured trumpet on some of the Jackie Gleason recordings.

I use BBF (using the AF-On button) with the Shutter Button disconnected from activating AF 100% of the time in any shooting scenario.

Whilst I can understand that you consider 'there is no advantage to having to hold down a second button when you are doing a burst in continuous AF', it means that you are having to change 'operational methods', possibly often.

For my slow brain the less method changes I have to make, the less chances of having something not set how I want it and missing a shot.
