No, it was about an earthling born on Mars, orphaned there, raised by Martians, eventually "rescued" by another space mission to Mars, and returned to earth. Thus, looking every bit as an inhabitant of earth, but being Martian in all other ways.
Thanks, I stand corrected
Oh, another very nicely programmed editing software is lightzone. It's front end is somewhat like lightroom, but works a bit differently and rather nicely.

No it wasn't. The term Grok was coined by Robert Heinlein in his book "Stranger in a Strange Land"

Stranger in s Strange Land was about a Martian who came to Earth and of course was naive about our social culture. GROK means "to become one with" Those who remember this are likely dating themselves. Ha Ha

People are genuinely worried about the future of this country and for their own personal safety. In my area, the county sheriff only does road patrols in the daytime.

Better stock up on bullets.

Yeah, stock up. Wonder why the Feds and States report that most major crimes are declining per capita? Less to protect yourself from. Stocking up is based on irrational fears-thank you right wing pundits and media for scaring these folks so they can buy more weapons and ammo. This is exactly what the NRA and its sympathizers
(including arms manufacturers) want. By the way, have you noticed how more and more guns are being stolen from cars, trucks and homes? Let's assume that these are all legal and permitted weapons. Who is to blame when a Glock, stolen from the console or glove box of a car, is used in a robbery, home invasion or aggravated assault? Yes, the criminal who committed the crime, certainly should be adjudicated. The original legal owner of the gun is also at fault for not safeguarding the gun in the first place and leaving it out, unlocked, to be stolen. If you aren't in possession of the weapon, it should be locked up or otherwise rendered safe. If you leave the keys in an unlocked car and it gets stolen, you don't gt much sympathy. It is still a criminal event and the car thief should be prosecuted. The only use of a weapon is to shoot targets and people. If you don't lock it up, you should be liable for the injuries and deaths if it is stolen and used in crimes along with the perpetrator. Unlock it and load when you have it with you, but lock it up safely when you leave. Simple.

Whenever I see a word used incorrectly it makes me grit my teeth. One of the most abused is the use of the wrong word when 2 or more words sound alike. Like Threw and Through. Like to (direction) too (also) and two (number). Also abused is the use of the wrong tense. "I seen it" instead of " I saw it" "Me and him went" instead of "He and I went". It grieves me that adults are passing on this mangling to the next generation. I see it on TV. I see it even on UH forum. I hear it daily. I truly believe that many people do not even know that they are speaking or writing incorrectly and that is even more disturbing. I realize that language evolves over hundreds of years but what with all of the abbreviations and slang I wish that the basics would stay the same. It is a sad commentary upon our educational system that this is so common. Just blowing off some steam. Sorry I will stop gritting my teeth now.

Maybe you have an eidetic memory. You may have to learn how to forget or develop more mindfulness, both good things.

It is not the cause of my insomnia. We haven't found that out yet. I will go to bed at 10 pm and not get to sleep till 4 in the morning and then sleep only a few hours. What sleep I do get is interrupted sleep. None of the Rx that my doctor has tried has worked just as there are no pain medications that work. The only time I have no pain is when they knock me out with something like Morphine and that is not an option in my opinion. And I do have fun with the visions. And the colors are phenomenal! Perhaps they DO influence my art. I just wish I was able to reproduce them in the complex detail that I see or to remember them well enough to try. I did once set up a tape recorder in bed and spoke a description as the colors and shapes changed. Some of the combinations were amazing.

Except for headaches and insomnia, this does seem to be a hypnogogic phenomenon. The visions have dream-like hallmarks, as if you have access to unconscious states. By themselves, they seem to be benign and a creative phenomenon.
Headaches and insomnia are a concern. I am not an MD, yet these symptoms seem significant and need to be thoroughly checked and causes differentially diagnosed. Sleep study, EEG and other appropriate scans should be done. It may be the most appropriate professionals would neurologists, neurologic psychiatrists or psychologists. Someone with Jungian training could also be helpful.

Ok. This is a question topic. Do any of you also experience something like this?
When I close my eyes I see colors. Not just one. Not just flat and still, but many combinations that move constantly. They also include patterns. Many times those patterns include Dragons. I can see these colors at night even with my eyes open if the room is dark enough. Bright colors: purples, chartreuse, fuchsia, lime greens, etc. A new "vision" came to me last week. It was not in color. It was a "screen" of computer language with odd shaped blank places. As I watched the text began to disappear from the bottom to the top till it was gone. Then last night there was a different no color scene. It was patterns this time and included scales like in the Color Dragon visions. It also had bars and other geometric shapes. My eyes were open. (no I was not asleep and dreaming this stuff) I could see my bed linens and lifted my fingers and wiggled them and could see them by the little light emitted by my bedside clock/radio. The scene was like a transparency laid over reality and of course like all the others it moved constantly, Changing. There were other times when I see multiple faces in the same "scene" that are constantly morphing into others as well as full figures and some doing some kind of task. These change so fast and last such a small amount of time that capturing their meaning is impossible. Now when these happen, I think back upon my day past and try to connect these with what I had seen or experienced that day. Sometimes I can find a connection but mostly there is none. I often wonder is this is something that others experience and if any research/study has been done to determine why the brain produces these phenomenon. What do you think? No I am not crazy so you can eliminate that thought!

The trouble with the TSA method is that it is a complete violation of the 4th amendment which protects us against search and seizure except with a warrant or for reasonable cause. The only way to end that protection is to declare martial law and that is limited to a short time period. The sheep have been fooled into believing that as long as they are being protected, it is okay if we give up our 4th amendment rights. But that is not so. The Israeli's have developed an extremely good system. We could learn it. Train security personnel at airports, courthouses and other government buildings what to look for (not who) and our rights will be restored at the same time our security will improve. Remember all passengers were being violated on 9/11.

The 4th Amendments protection against search and seizure have been gutted by the Congress, SCOTUS and the rest of the legal system. Try walking down the street, driving any vehicle, etc while Black or Hispanic (not white). You will learn that the 4th's protection don't exist, even if you sue in court at great cost. If you are stopped while driving and the police tells you why, once they have finished that conversation, i.e. your tail light is out, do you know that you have the right, respectfully, to terminate the conversation? or, respectfully, to refuse permission for a search of your vehicle. See what happens if you do simply invoke your rights. What about warrant-less searches? or powers under the Patriotic Act?

Thanks for the guiding words and your photographs. They are certainly magnificent and artistry!

One thing we have run into is sorting out the Train service. We think we need to have tickets arranged ahead of time or we will not get seats. Some of the connections are very tight, e.g. We will be traveling from Luckly Farms, East and North of London, to Edinburgh. One of the connections is to a different station with only 25 minutes. If we order and pay for the tickets, can we pick them up at the station or someplace? What happens if we miss a connection? Can we get a later train without buying a new ticket? Any information you can share will be greatly appreciated!
