I'm having trouble. Could it be Apple or version of Apple related?

I love my Nikon D850. It has been everything I dreamed a camera could be and more...until now. Now there is some sort of data overlay I can't remove from each shot depiction on the rear screen rendering it useless. Hopefully there is an easy glitch that perhaps I caused. But a base reset of the three key buttons doesn't fix it nor does a battery removal time out nor reformatting or replacing the memory chips. Called Nikon, no response so far but they don't work weekends anymore. Is there an easy fix or explanation? Hopefully...

Agree with Lucian. Too easy to say raw only. Learn the camera & judge the situation. If you shoot a lot, today's jpgs suffice 80% of the time at least. Not enough hours in the day to process all "the right way." Raw is for the specials. If that's all you're shooting then fine, raw is the way to go! My camera does both at once so it's easy.

My suggestion is to wait and see. Give yourself and the camera a try first. Since the D500 is a little bit older, there are a few functions that the D850 has that it lacks. Otherwise it is pretty much identical. I would expect that you will do quite well with it right out of the gate. The manual should resolve any questions that arise.

I have both and I agree. The main differences are the 500 weighs less, has a few less features and as a DX has more reach with the same lens. It also has fewer MP so is a less likely candidate for high res photography. I use the D500 mainly for sports.
