As I mentioned UHH before, I am leaving soon for a 10 day trip to Northern AZ and Utah. Does anyone have any recommendations regarding iPad or Android apps that will help me locate ideal locations of the sun in a particular area. I am not sure of the language of what I am wanting to do. I have heard that, for example, if you are at Arches at 4PM on a particular day, this app would help you better know in advance the best location near the arches to get the best image. I hope I am making some sense!

I took this with my Nikon D5300 and a 24mm fixed f1.8 Nicor lens. I am almost embarrassed to post this after seeing the Milky way photos taken by the gentleman with the astro enhanced camera. I am very low budget but even the crop frames will take good night photos. I am in the process of saving enough money to buy the D850. I will return!

Oh, man! This is so beautiful!!! I am leaving for Utah/AZ next week with my D7000. I can only hope to get close getting a photograph like this. What time of the night did you take it? What were your settings? What lens?

Allow me to reply. He is a millionaire many times over...well, we don’t know how many times, do we? He did inherit, but he lied and cheated and stole. Banks won’t lend him money because of his incompetence and lying. He is doubtless guilty of money laundering, and god knows what else. No, he deserved no particular respect for his lying, refusing to pay what he owes, thousands of court cases, and on, and on. Some Wealth!!—what he didn’t inherit, he lied and stole, took millions from aspiring students in a massive and admitted scam, failed at selling steaks and vodka. Look at his assiociates, Paul Manafort and Cohen—felons all, Trump was just another thug in the crowd.

Some President, hun?

And the majority of Americans did not vote for him. Remember, he lost the vote count by three million votes. Only the intricacies of the electoral college and Vladimir Putin saved him—what’s to respect in that?

You may approve or disapprove of of economic policy—I’m not going to get into that kettle of fish. However, you say we pay most of the UN, and we do, and we pay most of NATO, don’t we? And how did that work out? We stopped Russia and International Communist in its tracks. Russia wanted all of Europe but they failed because of NATO and the UN (and American Dollars, it’s true).

There has been no World War III, and that’s a great success in any book. And, upon Putin’s orders, Trump is attacking all that.

And Putin not only took over another country, he’s attempting to take over the USA! During the campaign and after the election. Trump people spend more time meeting secretly with Russians than any other policy. There’s absolutely no question Trump answers to Putin, was elected with Putin’s assistance and undoubtedly Putin’s guidance, certainly with Putin’s money, and very probably at Putin’s suggestion or at his orders.

And Putin has been extremely successful so far. Only Mueller can save us—the U S Congress certainly won’t!

And we were not appeasing North Korea in any sense of the word—at least not until Donald Trump was elected.

And I laugh at his necktie because that, and not understanding buttoning his coat shows how totally vulgar he is. Living on Cholesterol? This man is not physically or mentall fit, and clearly in mental decline. He is a cheap, vulgar, petty man with narrow mental horizons, practicing tawdry and petty policies that are a shame to the dignity of the nation.

I don’t consider that petty, my friend.

I’ll give you that business is doing well, stock market and all, but business always does well under Fascism, and that’s exactly where we’re headed.

Furthermore, my friend, you say Donald Trump is not “Political,” and perhaps you are right, but he exudes failure on each and every front. Look at what Kim did to him. Colossal Failure and Humiliation of US Foreign Policy, Colossal!!

And all this, following Putin’s orders!

He certainly loves the spotlight—no question there, but he’s the worst American President in American History, and his failures are many, many more than we know..

In short, we have a petty man, vicious and dishonest, cheap and vulgar, incompetent and destructive in office, a compulsive and documented liar six thousand times over, a bribe taker as is his son-in-law ($500,000,000 each!) a racist and white supremacist and an aspiring fascist—what’s not to like, long as you don’t mind losing freedom and democracy, right?
Allow me to reply. He is a millionaire many times... (show quote)

Wow! Lots to read there...I would really like to know where the information in these statements came from...."There’s absolutely no question Trump answers to Putin, was elected with Putin’s assistance and undoubtedly Putin’s guidance, certainly with Putin’s money, and very probably at Putin’s suggestion or at his orders"..... And Putin has been extremely successful so far. Only Mueller can save us—the U S Congress certainly won’t!"

If these are facts, I need to read and verify them for myself. If I find they are true, then I will be the first to demand that Trump be removed from office. Before Obama's last term ended, I heard him tell Putin that "let's wait til after the election." It was something that was caught on audio. Was he in collusion with Putin? I DO NOT KNOW.

By the way, "save us from what?" Ourselves? Tyranny? Corruption? Invasion of our borders? Big Business? Alien space crafts? Racism? Communism? Nuclear holocaust? I would suggest those issues are bigger than one person.

I tell you, Mueller must be sitting at the right hand of God himself.

Have a great Labor Day holiday!

He is a compulsive liar. He is incompetent in politics. He is stupid. He is dishonest. In other words, he steals, he lies, he hates, and he fucks things up—persistently and consistently.

He picked the most incompetent and corrupt cabinet we’ve ever had, he’s been had by Vladimir Putin and Kim of North Korea, his very soul is for sale, and he sells American Foreign Policy for Money.

Jobs are still leaving the country, we’re now in a trade war which is destructive.

He wears his ties too long and doesn’t know when to button his coat. He insults foreign dignitaries, gives away important intelligence, he knows nothing, is cheap and vulgar, and he is a white supremacist. He is also a bad businessman.

The only things I agree with you on your post is that 1)Trump is not a politician and 2) He is manipulative. But consider the FACT that he is a millionaire many times over....you can't be stupid and accomplish that unless you inherit. He is a shrewd business man who is a narcissist. I think the rest of your comments are pretty much based on opinions and not facts.

If Trump is all the things you say he IS and is NOT, then he must be really smart to be able to manipulate the majority of Americans to vote for him to be our President.

And why in the world would you criticize the way he wears his ties? That, my friend, is petty!!!

If I may ad, for years I have thought that the economic and foreign policies of the US were not very effective. Our import/export ratio was not fair. The US was pretty much paying for the existence of the United Nations. We were allowing Putin to take control of another country. We were appeasing North Korea.

Trump does not have the patience to be "political" with these people/countries. Does that make him look bad? HE doesn't care. At least, he does not seem to care.

Can the issues related to economics and foreign policy be solved during his term/terms in office. Not completely. But at least he is trying.

It used to be that everything wrong with America was "Bush's fault." I think Trump is now "the man." He loves the spotlight!!!

The whole weekend was a slap in the face for our despicable president, if you don’t get invited to two funerals and a wedding your probably an asshole!

There are lots of funerals and weddings that I have never been invited to, so I guess that makes me an asshole. By the way, NOT being invited to them is a great relief for me. Funerals are usually NOT about the deceased but other individuals to put on a show. Weddings....let's just say I used to be married. At the age of 68 I cherish not going to funerals. If a friend of mine dies, I prefer to remember him/her as they were...not embalmed and slapped into an expensive box and buried six feet down and....never mind. I'm just an asshole and I can live with that.

Although I like Trump's policies, I think he is an asshole. But, the man is smart and perceptive! It doesn't matter if he doesn't go to funerals or weddings.

I was playing golf at the time, too! Lot's of people were playing golf, or watching TV, or going to a movie..you get the idea. What do you think Trump should have been doing during the funeral? He was not invited. Should he have curled up on the White House sofa and watched the funeral and cried uncontrollably the whole time and prayed to God to watch over McCain and his family?

I liked McCain and his honest spirit. But this bashing of the President....agree or not...is ridiculous! If Obama had not attended the funeral, and played golf during that time, I would bet there would not have been an article written about it.

I'm not here to defend the president, or anyone else. I'm only stating that it seems disrespectful of the deceased to focus attention on others than the deceased. If nothing else it seems inappropriate at a funeral to use the pulpit as a soapbox.

I'm not sure I understand your "double standard". I don't have a double standard. I didn't like McCain, and probably have a better bit of insight to him than a good deal of you folks defending his daughter. If you folks think that bashing the president is so incredibly important that doing so during the funeral of someone considered "great", I feel your civility has diminished to the point of being reprehensible.

When it comes to photography, I need to continuously explore new ideas and themes, or I will get bored rather quickly. Shooting the same scenes over and over again... no, that is definitely not for me.

Reading the posts on this thread - some of you are just plain mean! UHH used to be a fairly friendly community when I signed up as a member years ago. Doesn't seem like that anymore. Especially the last few months.

"I need to continuously explore new ideas and themes"......I agree with you 100% but what is "new" for some maybe "old" for others. Should I avoid photographing Antelope Canyon because millions of people have already been there and taken photos? I have not been there...it is "new" to me. Millions of photos have been taken from the International Space Station, but, given even a remote chance, I would go there and take my own. My photos are MY memories. No one should try to tell me not to take them because "they have been there and done that." As for the UHH Community, I think you have it wrong....very wrong. Except for some of the political comments and vitriol that results, I find the community very interesting. This community goes out of its way to answer "old questions" again and again without judging someone.
