Not so with the Nikon wireless, the only thing you have to do is set the REMOTE Fn to Autofocus. Everything related to the body stays the same. When you have the body in your hands BBF stays the same as always.
The remote plugs into the 800 on the front of the body and it isn't even as big as a CF card, don't know where the connector is on a 500 or 810. Although I don't use one, I don't think an L-bracket would be a problem if the connector is in the same place.
I have the WR-R10. The cool thing is that the receiver plugs directly into the 7100's mini connector, and the set that B&H was selling came with an adapter that uses the 10 pin connector on the 800. No problem switching back and forth, I love it.
I use Nikon's wireless remote. It has an Fn button, in the custom control menu there is a setting, I think g13, that control it in an 800, I don't remember what it is in my 7100. The 800 has a separate menu item for the remote so you can use the Fn button on the body for something else when you have it in your hands, 7100 has just 1 setting for remote and on body button. Hope this helps.
Yes, I've been using it since I bought my F5. Once you get used to it you will never go back.
I'm a Nikon user, so this might not work for Canon. There is a menu item that lets you use the Fn button on the remote to turn on auto focus. There might be something like it in your Canon settings.
Every once in a while the airline will weigh your carry-on. Make sure it's less than 18 lb. Also if you have a tripod they might give you a hard time for having something "loose" that will cause trouble. After much grief with an international carrier, I now check my travel tripod in the checked baggage, so far no problem. Have a great trip!
It's always a good thing to start with the best image, the tweeks will be smaller and there is no way to correct a blown out area. As for having to process all of them, pick the best one and trash the rest.
I went from 4 to 5 when they ran an introductory special. The software is a bit easier to use, but the monitor colors seem to be the same. I don't think it was worth it. Kymarto went from 3 to 5 and saw a difference, he may have seen the same change if he went from 3 to 4.
Don't miss the opera house. If you are into walking the walk from the opera house to the cemetery is full of great things to shoot. Also take US dollars (new crisp ones) the merchants and restaurants will give you twice the official exchange rate.
Thanks guys, just ordered from Holga. It looks like the perfect setup for my 600 f:4.
Where did you get it? B&H reports it as discontinued.
I'm a bit disappointed that he used the crop factor to change the shutter speed for the 400mm lens. It is still a 400mm and there is no need to speed things up.
Something that has worked for me is to turn on the light in your oven and "bake" the camera and lens for an hour. The oven light will get the temp up to 90 or so and won't hurt anything.
You're lucky it only took an hour! I made the mistake of clicking ok and I was down and out for 2 1/2 hours.
