Trying out PS specifically with layer textures. I added a texture I created of a hibiscus flower petal, Canon 100mm. I used a layer mask to remove the mask from the flower. Photo taken indoors, no flash. Water added. Please download

Thanks for posting the information regarding Allen's camera. Not sure if my local camera shop will be around in 2018. Visiting a camera shop and discussing photography with the staff is enjoyable. I do enjoy trying the lenses on my camera body before purchasing. Only can be done locally.
Good luck with your new lens.

Local Parade in my neighborhood. Great opportunity to capture some special cars and neighbors who participated. Enjoy

Brings back memories. Fresh water swimming. Right behind you is Lake Shore Drive and high rises.
Nice capture. Many opportunities for big city photos.

Looks like a Mojo bag. Interesting character. I would like to see more of his environment in the shot.

There are many opinions regarding upgrading lenses. I generally suggest buying the best lens possible.
But- depending on your style and photographic engagement you and I may not need to spend $$$ on a lens.
Look at your photography interest level and evaluate how much of your life is devoted to this hobby.
I have several kit lens and each have the capability to take great family photos as well as document vacations.
I also have several L lens which I employ to capture perfection.
Many of the kit lens that I have are available used at great discounts by those who have outgrown them.
Best of luck

OK- didn't take long but after seeing a sample of the photos in the link I will admit the quality of the photos are poor at best and leaning toward right out horrific.

I wish him the best in the self publishing business.

I have not seen the book. I'll judge it after I do. To achieve 300 quality pictures at his age would be remarkable. I will be disappointed if this is a collection of "cooked HDR" photos, which I could live without.
I wish every photographer success.

I have the 5D3 and love it. I personally would not benefit from an upgrade.
Instead I am working on my skills both SOOC and in post.
If I have to upgrade I will consider the 5D4.
