Great series. Even more interesting is the squirrel is at the top of the prey size for a Redtail. RTs normally feed on small rodents and even insects.

Thank you safeman! I wasn’t as surprised to see the hawk with a squirrel as the size of the squirrel until I saw the squirrel was pregnant. I’ve got lots of pictures but didn’t think anyone would really care to see the squirrel getting eaten. Terri

Great sequence and interesting. Nice group.

Thank you Jeff! We were walking by when the hawk caught the squirrel. I’ve never had a hawk so unconcerned about me taking his picture. Terri

Yes, it's a great sequence.

But won't anyone speak up for the squirrel?

Thank you Markie! I’m glad I didn’t know she was pregnant or I probably would have tried to save her. Even though I’m so glad when my barn cat kills them. Terri

Great set, Terri! You just record it.

Thank you Mike! I’ve never had a hawk stay by us like he did. I must not have looked as hungry as all those crows. Terri

We went to the beach yesterday and saw a juvenile Red Tail Hawk grab this squirrel. Crows were trying to take it from him so he stayed by us and let me get some photos. Unfortunately the squirrel was pregnant. Nature can be cruel.

Hey sir, can you have your body facing away from me and then look back over your shoulder so I can take your portrait. Some clients are just easier to work with than others! LOL

I not sure if I’m more impressed that you got a bird to listen to you or your very nice photograph. I think you should give all of us some pointers. LOL. TERRI
