This is an ongoing problem I have at the club. They destroy my image and the resulting images are pixelated putting me at a disadvantage.

What an exceptional composition

Thank you. I cropped in the viewfinder; not other cropping was used.

I sent it "Large" not full sized to him. Smaller files destroy a lot of detail and degrade the image.

"You should be using "Add Attachment", which should involve clicking on an icon or possibly selecting a menu option. In my browser the icon is a staple tilted at 45 degrees.

Yep, I have been using the staple at 45 degrees.

The image above is 3300px wide. If embedded in an email, it might very well be too wide to fit on his screen, where if the image was a file attachment and opened in picture viewer rather than as an email, the viewer would dynamically resize the image to fit screen.

The problem is we can't "see" what the three players in this story are reporting. I'm guessing, possibly wildly, the image is embedded when you send rather than a file attachment. What email tool are you using?

I have sent it from LR that uses my "Mail" application on my MacBook Pro launchpad. I have also attached it to a message attached to my "Mail" program.

How can I send it as an attachment that is not an image? (It's a JPG image.)

When you attached the image to the email, did it appears as an icon, or as a full image in the page? If the latter, it would be a bit trickier to extract the image into a file.

It's a full image when I look at the message I sent.

Perhaps you mistakenly sent him the Preview image created by one of your photo programs, a very low quality JPG or BMP.

If I look at my sent messages, it looks fine.

Is your email changing the file when attached and sending? Is your email embedding the image into the email in a way that changes the file? Should you ask him to create a share site so you can place the image (JPEG - as is) onto that location? If you're not sending him a JPEG, you are forcing him to action the file.

A lot more details and investigation would help resolve, rather than a high-level anecdote. Assuming, you're looking for a solution.

I am looking for a solution. I do not understand why he and I can not share this image. I sent him a hyperlink to this topic and invited him to download it. This seems like a very clumsy way to solve the problem!

I don't know if the problem is with me or on his end?

I have another friend who is a Widows user and he complains that my images are too big for his screen. The problem may well be on my end?

The brick and mortar camera club I belong to is having a themed photo contest. The Topic is "Signs of Spring." I took the attached image as my submission.

When I submit this image to the club officer he complains that I sent him an "Image" not a "file." I do not even understand what he is saying? As a Mac user, a JPG file is an image when opened.

The guy I'm sending the image/file to says he must convert it to a file. When he does this it destroys my image by pixelating it.

Please help us communicate.

Thank you.

Chill people! The original RAW file was badly over exposed to begin with. I have taken hundreds of deer photos. This one is nothing special. I made a heroic attempt to save it with post processing.

Some of you folks seem to take yourself way too serious. Currently I'm half blind with cataracts. I'm amusing myself with PS and playing with fire.

It's been along time since I played with PS layers. I wanted to see if I could remember how to do it. It's took a while but it came back to me.

This is fabulous background fading and it works so well. Nice work.

If you are talking about the hummingbird photo, that out of focus is real. There was not PS trickery used in that photo.
