I believe that people need to learn how to shoot. They need to know about exposure and what you can do with it. Composition is something that makes or breaks a shot. All of these basics are important. No camera can do this on its own. I always love to see the new equipment, but frequently find out I probably won't use certain features.

I was late jumping on the digital trend because the early cameras were horrible. I never buy the first model of a new car. I'll probably not buy a 60MP camera. I have the bodies, lenses, filters and associated equipment for the hobby I love. There are days I don't shoot one photo, there are other days I shoot everything. This is a fun hobby and I enjoy every minute I spend doing it. I learn so many new things every day. My cameras allow me to do these new things, too.

And that is the truth!! I have seldom heard it stated better, or in terms that are easier to understand. Without composition it simply becomes a documentation shot.

Interesting shot. However, It isn't black & white on my calibrated screen. There's a definite rosy tint.

You are correct, it is sepia. My mistake, no excuse but thanks for catching it. Thanks for taking such a close look!

Great effects, my friend. Could you resend your last e-mail; I deleted it by mistake.

I will try to find it, if I fail just blame my low tech. mind! Thanks for the positive feedback, it is always appreciated, especially when I consider the source. Take care and God bless!

Drove out to Jacques Cartier Park just around sunrise this morning. The temperature was 34F, but at least there were no crowds. However, that early in the morning there were a lot of deep shadows. Water levels are way down this year, probably lower that I have ever seen them.

Some very thoughtful composition and framing. Outstanding job! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks much, Phil. If you remember the photo of Butler Barn that I posted several days ago, this lady was there, making the painting of it.

Thanks John, I suspected that was the case.

It is amazing what patches of sun can do to a well composed image! Very good capture John!

Thanks very much! Too kind. I will say that the DF is often underrated but has the same sensor as the D4. Never owned a bad Nikon.

I purchased my Df in 2014, and while I have liked and appreciated most of the camera's that I have owned, I completely fell in love with the Df. I always had the feeling that it was made just for me. I never knew anyone that actually owned and used one for a while that didn't love it!
