An excellent choice of sky replacement in #2. The lightning in #1 is overpowering and I think the photo would be better off without it.

Thanks for the comment Willaim, its all subjective, only an experiment.

I like them...especially the lightning one...person walking down the road without a care in the world!
The bridge photo...you put in threatening sky...I took it one step further with sky replace in Luminar AI...to make even a tad more threatening...

Ah yes I have a similar one but looks a bit like the end of the world....🤣

These make the photos look all the more awesome! I'm a bit proud, though, and would only put in skies I myself have taken. I'm sure there's a way to do it. Might be fun to build a whole series of personally shot folders (sunset skies, dramatic clouds, clear blue, storm skies, etc) specifically for that purpose.

that is quite possible ELNikkor, sometimes its just easier and quicker to use library ones but your idea is the best way to go for satisfaction of your own work

I have rarely used sky replacement, but these fine images are an inspiration. IMHO, the lightning addition is one that could easily be overused.

thanks, I agree about the lightning but the original sky was just about the same colour. (color) oops....

Great job in replacement sky!! And remember, you can do this in Affinity Photo too.

Thanks Elliott937, well I decided to switch from Adobe a few months back, I was using lightroom4 for many years.
At the time ON1 and Affinity were very cheap so I actually bought both of them. I need to learn more about Affinity but the new version of ON1 is ridiculously easy to change the sky compare with earlier versions.
Both Apps have their good points, I just need to buckle down and learn more...

Nice. What were the original skies like? Bland and useless?
I use sky replacement from Adobe frequently, because I believe it’s the final image that counts.
Does anyone know if there is a way of adding one’s own sky shots to the Adobe sky choices? I have to be very selective about the horizon in order to use my own sky images. With Adobe, trees, telephone wires, etc. work just fine.

Well the cottage shot with the lightening was very dark and moody like just before a storm so I think the effect gave it more drama. The bridge shot was very cloudy but again I think the one added made it look more effective.
I am not using Adobe by the way.
