It might help if you make her complexion less blue. And for someone who is supposed to be beauty personified she looks a bit odd in close-up.

I have already adjusted the blue quite a bit RG but did expect some comment on what remains. Perhaps I’ll have another shot at it. As far as her beauty is concerned, that’s in the eye…well, you know the rest - but I bet there are not too many blue-blooded young men that would complain as loudly as you! Tobe less frivolous, I do appreciate your comments but the faded effect used is what it is. I could spend time restoring her complexion but that would be for a different look ‘effects-wise’, if you see what I mean.

Well, I couldn't think of a better title, if you have a suggestion please say! It's a bit different to my usual offerings - my wife said 'yes, it's a bit different for you but rather sickly'......can't please all the people all the time. All images are mine, no AI BUT I must say the latest Ps Select Subject saves a lot of time! Any critique appreciated, as always.

Very effective Howard, I like the fact you’ve picked the colour up in the buildings and the composition is spot-on. Very nicely done.

How can I be happy with it now that I've seen it? Of course it doesn't look right :-) :-) I just never noticed it. Now that I've removed it, the arm stands out against the back wall far better ... a definite improvement. Thank you again.

Yep, it’s made a big improvement Howard. You made a good job of doing it.

I'm not sure what you mean by the "Arm shadow"

In the reflected image, the extended arm has a shadow immediately under it, projected onto the back wall. To me it doesn’t look right but if you’re happy with it there’s no need to worry about it Howard.

Makes a nice image Frank. Is that the lamp you used in a composite a little while back? It a nice asset to have in the photo-bank.

Beautifully done image Jim. In the construction of composite images I can't see the difference in using photographs downloaded from various internet sources or images created to my specifications using AI.

Me too Jack, for the creator there is no real difference - but AI may give more ‘it’s mine’ feeling due to the requirement to create the specification you refer to?

Just found this area on UHH. I'm not sure how I feel about AI yet. I've done several composites using several free-to-download images. With AI I have this feeling I'm cheating.

I wanted to try a free site to see what I could do and if I liked the concept. This is my first try. The image is all AI with clean-up using Photoshop. I like the image but don't feel it's really mine.

Thought I’d left a response to this last evening but it seems to have got lost Jim. I reckon with AI like this you’re the author, not the artist, so the ‘it’s mine’ feeling will be missing. For commercial use, concept artists and the like that probably doesn’t matter and the time saved is useful. Likewise for the times you’re making an image that includes something you simply don’t have or couldn’t take a shot of. So far I’ve resisted and will probably continue to do so - I’ll have to leave it to you and Curmudgeon, who has made some very attractive stuff.
There is something else to think about though - the following from the NY Times briefing of a day or two back makes the point.

I think it’s appropriate for this section Howard. Let’s assume so until told otherwise! It’s very well done. I’m not sure the arm shadow is correct though - or necessary - I’d remove it.

Yep, this one is on making a digital art collage.

Just throwing it out there. I usally learn some new technique when I watch these webinars.

I may have misread what you meant Fstop, were just mentioning the slow shutter speed tut in passing and this tut is Collage?

So I Googled ICM, and came up with many definitions that have nothing to do with photography. Could you favor me with an enlightening articulation of your meaning?

Intentional Camera Movement. There’s been a fair bit of discussion on the subject in the Digital Artistry section over the past year. I tried it several times, most recently following a tutorial, but cannot decide if it’s really for me. Makes useful backgrounds for my composites sometimes though.

Don’t want you to think I’m not interested Fstop but it may be a little while before I take up your offer of the link - I suspect it leads to ICM-based images and I’m still deciding how far I’d go with those following another tutorial I’ve watched. I will get to it though. Thanks for posting.

I wouldn’t start crouching down Erich, you’ll get the wrong sort of reputation! An interesting image though and one I’d be guilty of missing for sure.

Those background, colour and texture choices have been excellent throughout your posts Phil, I’ve really enjoyed the images. Keep ‘em coming in 2024!
