Excellent photos. Where did you go to see the swans and search for the snow geese?
Thanks, David, glad you liked the photos… The Swans can be found out East, toward the coast. The photos were from Pungo Lake, which is part of Pocosin Lakes NWR. About 20 miles SE of Plymouth, NC.
They can be at Lake Mattamuskeet, too. It is a bigger lake and is bit further to go, so I usually don’t get there. (Hmmm… maybe that is where the Snow Geese are?) Actually, anywhere in the Pocosin Lakes area. The challenge is access and whether the birds are there.

Excellent set! I hope you get your chance at snow geese and come out with a set this good.
Thanks! If that happens, I will post up some photos here. Fingers-crossed!!

Gitchigumi, I'd take these photos over snow geese any day. No. 2 and 6 are my favorites. Thanks for your post.
Thanks, Barn Owl, I appreciate your comment. And, yes, the Tundra Swans are great photo subjects! I still have this quest, though, for Snow Geese!
Some photos of Tundra Swans, which are wintering in NC. I had hoped to get photos of Snow Geese, but they have been elusive so far. This has been a 3-year quest for me... And, I have lots of Tundra Swans photos, but none of the Snow Geese! And, I know they are there... somewhere!! I plan to try again, soon...
All photos were late in the day, with that last one as the sun was setting behind me.
Nikon D750, Sigma 150-600C, various f-stop, ISO, SS, etc..

Should you tip the teachers at your child’s school? Bus drivers? Janitors? Admin staff?
If you sign up for a photo workshop, the fee should be a one-time fee with no tipping expected. You will also have other expenses, such as airline tickets, rental car, etc.. You wouldn’t tip the pilot, stewardesses, baggage handler, rental car agent, etc.. would you?
Rant mode engaged: Too many people have their hands out expecting you to grease their palms with cash. Some of you may be flush with cash and can afford to give it away as tips. For me, being retired, money is tight. It would be a stretch to afford to go on one of these photo trips. It would be a great experience, no doubt. But, to add an expectation of a tip just doesn’t sit well with me. Rant over.
