I have an a57 also. It's a fine camera and does everything (and more) that I need or want. Good shots.
I have to agree with you there Father, many thanks.....
With the camera set to Wide, it may not be focusing on what you want it to focus on. It was a guess on my part, that the focus area may be 'mis-set'. Focus speed shouldn't be an issue, even when the shooting rate is set to max, the camera will certainly be able to keep up, I find it easier to use single shot for most of my stuff, that's all. A monopod may be a wise move. Let us know how you get on.....!

You may not be steady of hands. but your mind is not shaky, right? Use a tripod with a remote attachment...you will not have to hold the camera. So, looking forward to seeing some of your pictures.
Rich :-P
Sound advice there, Rich.....

Shot with Drive continious. with this lens about 5 to 6 per second.
Framing shot using lens with room to Crop. The close shots where sharp. I will clean and shot another. Maybe two with lens 100% zoomed and 80.
Local? "download image"?
Post ISO, shutter, AP. Shoot normally in AP setting shutter speed fast for action. I thought the Lightroom/Metadata would have it in it Auto.

For 'focus area' settings, see page 119 of the manual - it just allows you to select one of the many focusing points that the camera has, in isolation. Personally I find it much easier to have the single center point selected, focus, then recompose the shot.

Nice pussy, is it yours
Yep, he's mine - his name is Dave.......!
He was about 6-7 weeks old in that photo, he's about 4 months or so now. In politically correct speak, he would be described as having challenging behaviour....!!
Still, he's good company.....!
