Why narrow your choice to just two camera makes, because they so well known does not mean they are the best. I suggest you widen your choice to include about 5 or 6, I am not going advise you on any brands but do remember to include some mirror-less cameras.

I am amazed this little guy is built like a tank. I thought I was down sizing.
With the 100_300mm lens it weighs 29 oz.
My D5500 with 70-300mm Dx lens weighs 29oz.
Of course the EM10 is more compact and the lenses are about the same size.
And also the 100- 300 goes out to 600mm. Verses 450mm.

That EM 10 appears to have some heavy metal in it.

But it is compact... a little.

What else can you expect, you have a reasonably compact and light camera and the slap a heavy lens on it.

I haven't got a Green Auto button on any of my cameras, although I use "A" mostly along with "P" and "S" occasionally. All these setting are still basically "Auto" but I do use the Auto setting sometimes when I feel it is necessary.

Use Google Photos, it has a basic but quite good editor and it stores your photos free although with a limit on the resolution.

I use two methods, firstly try to stand with some shade over the camera LCD, or if your camera has a tiltable screen flip it out horizontally, lower the camera to waist level and compose your picture from above.

We recently visited Cancale, the Oyster capital of France, unfortunately it started to rain heavily as soon as we arrived and we took shelter in a Restaurant-Bar for a glass of wine. After half an hour or so the rain clouds rolled away and this is the view which appeared.

I got home a couple of weeks ago from our road trip around Great Britain, we had a wonderful time, met lots of nice people, enjoyed good food and drinks (beer) and saw a lot of England, Scotland and Wales. The driving while different was very enjoyable, for the most part very very few aggressive drivers and many courteous ones. People keep asking what was the best part of the trip and we keep answering there were too many best parts to pick one.

I did get one offence notice and associated charges from Avis today, apparently there is a toll on the Merseygate bridge that we people from another country are supposed to know that you must phone in to pay as there are no toll booths. So a 2 pound toll turned into a 52 pound charge on my credit card. Bit of a scam I think. Won’t put me off returning for another trip just won’t go to that area of England again.

To our British members, you have a very beautiful country and we enjoyed our 23 days immensely!

Cheers

Many people complain about these tolls and the lack of information about methods of payment, apparently, it's not very clear if you are a stranger to the area, any way you hade a great time so that what matters.

Hi Jerry, UK vehicles have rear fog lights fitted as standard for many years now. Some car have one but most have two, they are built into the rear light cluster or separately lower down in the bumper. These fog lights have to be switched on manually and the switch is located low down to prevent accidental use, you have to remember to switch them off when there is no fog as they are so bright that another road users can be distracted

Yes Southwest Airlines offer you a free 50 pound bag and one carry on. Then you discover if you
ever expect to get a seat with who your are traveling with you have to get an Early Bird boarding pass.
That cost $25 each way so on a round trip it is $50 per person. Then even with your Early Bird boarding pass you have handicapped people, family boarding, frequent fliers and active duty military who get on ahead of you. By the time you get on board half the seats are already full. Last time we were in Baltimore Airport the gate attendant said we were flying to Pittsburgh when everyone else knew the plane was going to Albany, NY. On connecting flights you may want to get a hamburger in the terminal to hold you over. That will cost you $19 plus what ever you wish to wash it down with. But don't worry once your in your cramped seat on the plane Southwest will hand you a small drink and a one ounce bag of pretzels with the note on it that says "Just because we care about you". The problem with people like me is we can remember when flying was for people and airlines never thought of them like cattle.

50 lbs luggage is a lot of weight to lug around!

I have a G85 ( which I love ) and some lenses; thinking about buying a Pen ( maybe E-PL9 ) to use as a backup ( currently use a panasonic Z60, very good, as a backup ); anyone use Pen, out there, and what do you think of this strategy ? ( I have D500, D810, etc. lenses, trying to eventually transition away )

Olympus Pen cameras are MFT, the only real difference is that Pen cameras have a viewfinder, therefore, are more pocketable. I have had an EPL-1 for years, the real problem with the earlier models was the LCD was only a 2.7 inches.
