Why do you need all this information just to recommend a lens that may/may not be best suited for landscape?

If I didn't provide enough information for you to make a recommendation please, just go to the next post.

He asked those questions because those are the factors that determine what lens to choose. Your rude reply simply displays your total lack of understanding of photography and of composition. My suggestion is that you get a good book on photography, read it and then perhaps we can have a discussion of landscape photography with you.

Nor would I ever use rice to dry out something like a camera or other electronic item. Oh, I know it works, my Mom always had a teaspoon full of white rice in the saltshaker to keep the salt flowing freely.
What I'd be concerned about is the rice dust. It is very fine and can find its way to the tiniest nooks and crannies.
What I do instead: I have a special jar in the kitchen (away from any food stuffs) that I use to collect all those little packets of dessicant. If and when I should need to dry my camera or anything else, my jar is almost full now!

As an aside, I have wondered if the "crystals" used in flower arrangements, will work as well as a dessicant. I've got three kinds here, one is "polyacrylamide", one is "Sodium Polyacrylate" and one is "a polymer."
They can absorb 200 times their weight in moisture. I'll have to try it out....

The crystals are a desiccant and would work better than rice.

One feature you will find in Paintshop Pro as well as in Photoshop CC is support for layers. This allows you to build up modifications to an image and blend them together in various ways. This is a more advanced editing feature that you probably don't need at first - but it is a powerful feature that allows you to edit just an area or two that you specifically want to change.

But there are editors that don't support layers and some are quite powerful. One that I like is called Raw Therapee; it's a free download and there is a good user's manual and user's group for it. Gimp is another free editor that some people like. In fact there are probably dozens of simple that various people will recommend, ranging from very simple (but low in capability) to the more complex but more capable (like Raw Therapee and Gimp).

GIMP does support layers as well as most other features of Photo Shop. Rawtherapee is a Lightroom clone minus the catalog features. It is an excellent program and when used in combination with GIMP gives one editing power similar to Adobe's PhotoShop/Lightroom combination. I believe that both are available for the Mac, both require some effort to learn. For a free easy to use program try Picasa, I know several people who use it and like it.

It appears you have crossed over and claimed some conservatives. So what. Great Americans come from all perspectives. We should all pull down the party flags and fly the American flag.

In this article, the author lists many of your liberals as conservatives: http://humanevents.com/2011/02/20/top-10-greatest-conservative-presidents/

Here's another: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/northamerica/usa/6990965/The-most-influential-US-conservatives-20-1.html

A. Lincoln was a Life long Whig, the liberal party of his day, before he until help[ed to found the Radical Republican Party also composed of liberals. Given his record it is hard to see how one could call him a Conservative. Remember too the Republican Party was the liberal party in this Country until the 1960's.

As for H. Truman being a conservative that's a laugh. Better find a source that is somewhat in touch with reality.

As for Washington, Jefferson and etc. they were certainly considered radicals in their day. Most were Deists, and Freemasons. The conservatives of their day were the Monarchists.

Absolute non sense. I can name any number of liberals, including Lincoln, the two Roosevelts, H Truman, D Eisenhower, L Johnson, who have contributed to the greatness of this Nation. Name a Conservative of equal measure. J C Calhoun, J Davis?

Then why were most of the Founding Fathers, including Washington, Addams, Jefferson, and Franklin, not Christians, but Deists? It is apparent that you know little of your country's History.

DropBox is designed for large (really large) files over the internet.

However, you have an attendant problem which is not resolved by just getting the file to the recipient.

Viewing it.

TIFF is not one of those browser universal file formats like PNG, JPG, BMP, GIF, etc.

TIFF requires editing or reader software than can view it. Now PS, CC, and the other Adobe products can view it, because they can open TIFF.

There may be a way with the software you are saving to TIFF to embed a viewer along with the file, but by itself the file is worthless to anyone who does not have software that can open TIFF. If you know the recipient can open a TIFF file in the first place, then I suggest you look into Dropbox, or one of the similar large file solutions.

You open a Dropbox account, you upload your big file to Dropbox. Dropbox then allows you to send a Dropbox link (invitation) to the recipient. He/she then goes to Dropbox and downloads the file to their computer.

Dropbox is relatively (????) easy to set up and use. Then, it's just a question of having a viewer or decoder to open TIFF.

I'm going to assume someone is asking you to send a TIFF format, which means they have the capability to open it. If you are the one making the decision, it may be of no value to the recipient if they do not have TIFF capable viewing programs.

NOT ALL editing programs can open TIFF, and surely not basic internet browsers.

Nearly all viewer programs. including Irfanview, can display TIF files. It is a very standard file format. However the best thing to do would be to convert to jpg, unless the recipient wishes to edit the file. Then Dropbox is fine, it is what I use.

I have a cannon eos 70 do camera. It came with a 18-135 image stabilizer lense, that I love. I am looking for a lense that I can use as a telephoto and macro, portrait. .the 18-135 does not allow me to get distant pictures as close as I want. I did some family weddings that I wish I could of gotten closer shots . . If anyone has any recommendations on a good versatile lense for distance, macro and portraitsee all in one. Thanks

You might want to look at the Canon EF-s 15 -- 85. It will focus down to 14 inches, not macro, but close. Absolutely sharp wide open at all focal lengths. Very, very little distortion. Excellent IS. I wish it where an EF lens, and f2.8, but it is heavy enough and expensive enough as is.

As we all know the loss of bees has become a major danger to the Agricultural Community. Pictured below is prototype Mechanical Bee under development at the University of Illinois. It is projected to be able to pollinate over 200 acres per hour when fully operational.
