Excellent and loved the downloads, Harve, and just about the same thing happened to me a few days ago; I kept hearing this familiar sound and look up at a large Holly tree with many birds, and my binoculars confirmed my suspensions, the tree was loaded with Robins!

Super shots! Those bushes look like the pyrocanthra (spelling!) we have in our yard. The purple finch appear to be drunk after eating the berries. Fun to watch. Wonder if robins are similarly affected.
Ron

Ron, they certainly eat the berries as if they are enjoying a good margarita!!!

My last post from our New England trip, hope you enjoy.

USS Constitution "Old Ironsides" was launched from Edmund Hart Shipyard in Boston Harbor on October 21, 1797 as one of the original six frigates built for the U.S Navy.

From 1800 to 1974 the Navy Yard built, repaired and outfitted U.S naval vessels. Today the yard is home to USS Constitution the oldest commissioned warship afloat in the world also there is a Museum. Restoration work was started in 2015 and is expected to finish in 2017.There is also USS Cassin Young which was refitted and modernised in the yard's dry dock, she was a Fletcher-class destroyer, unfortunately I was unable to get a picture.

The Commandant's house is one of the oldest structures in the Navy Yard. It was completed in 1805 and was a private home for his family and entertainment venue for some of the highest ranking naval officers. The house has been modified over time, in 1825 windows were reduced in number and central steam heat installed in 1835. The Navy Yard was decommissioned in 1974 and the house has been preserved as part of Boston National Historical Park.

The picture of the very tall lady was taken while we sat on a bench in the centre of Boston she was a tour guide. I took a sneaky shot with the 300 lens as she shouted to her small group, "I hope everyone is listening to me".
