If the connectors fit, I use it.

I have good luck with machinery except cars. I can never keep my car running well for very long.

I now have three broken microwaves that I have to bring to a special place to dispose of. I'll have to check and see when they are open.

I've had great luck with cars - well over 100k miles on several. I've had forty-two cars since I started driving in 1960. Back then, cars were cheap, so I could buy a new one every few years. For example, I had Fords in '65, '67, and '69.

You need a device with a tape out / monitor in set of jacks, like we had on 1970s stereo receivers. Better yet would be an Auxiliary Line Out jack from the device. In both cases, this would provide a constant level out to the FM transmitter, but you could control the local volume independently of the FM receivers.

That sounds about right.

Before you call these phone numbers Google them usually they don't exist. Also if you get one of the 'You are in deep #% @( ' messages and you can't close the tab enter alt-ctrl-delete go to to task-manager find your browser and end the task. When you restart your browser do not use the resume or restore option.

Good advice.

Not worth getting all hyper and red-faced.

I can't understand why people get so worked up when they are shopping. It's ridiculous. Screaming and cursing isn't required.

USB charging cables -

They should sell a "Cable Pack." It would contain about a hundred basic cables, covering most situations. Then they would have the "Cable Pack Pro" kit, and that would include all the cables you would ever need, probably about two hundred. 😂

Of course, you could sign up for the subscription plan, so you would get the new cables as they were introduced.

Our microwaves last five or six years, which isn't great, considering the cost. Our current Farberware doesn't want to stop running, so it's time for a new one. The choices are overwhelming, and most companies offer too many models, so it's hard to find a review of one that's actually available. I'll read reviews of a recommended model, but that model is no longer available. Between the testing and the publishing, the manufacturer changed models. Is a $500 KitchenAid better than a $70 Comfee? I want one with 1000W, 1.1 Cu ft, 12" turntable. Breville seems to be the best brand, but it's not easy to find at reasonable prices.

Well, I've decided that I can't buy a microwave. They're either not reliable, don't heat well, or are too expensive. I'll just have to continue eating ice cream.

As a side note, most microwaves are made in a single factory in China. "The Midea Group has manufactured the majority of countertop microwave ovens sold in the United States since 2020."

Here's a warning that could help you live longer.

"Getting angry – even for just a few minutes – can change the functioning of your blood vessels, which may make heart attacks and strokes more likely. The finding could explain why some people experience these events during emotional outbursts. It comes from a study in young adults who seemed to be in good health. The participants were asked to think about past experiences that made them angry while various aspects of their circulatory health were measured. Perhaps unsurprisingly, none of them had a heart attack or stroke during this process, but they did experience impaired blood vessel functioning that has been linked to such outcomes."

Over the weekend, I took pictures with both a Galaxy S10 phone and a little Sony WX9 camera. I wasn't shocked to see that the phone pictures were better. I bought the Sony as a $130 refurb in 2012, and I was shooting in Auto. I like it because it's very small and fits into a belt case. Most of my shots were indoors without a flash.

For casual photography, the phone is a good alternative to the Z8.

Similar, but too cheap. I saw one for $205 and another for $115. Buttons on the handle let you point it in any direction.

USB-C is just a connector. The (not) fun starts when you realize that there are different LEVELS of USB-C cables that are required for certain devices. Using the wrong one can ruin your day.

Thunderbolt 4/USB4 cables with USB-C on both ends work with all current device standards. They're expensive, though!

Thunderbolt 3/USB4 cables work with everything but Thunderbolt 4. About the same price or a little less than TB4/USB4...

USB 3.2 cables with USB-C on both ends don't do USB4 or Thunderbolt 3 or 4. Much more affordable if you don't need more than 10 Mbps.

USB-C CHARGING cables don't move data, or move data so slowly you might as well not use them.

…and I've only scratched the surface.

If you have USB-C cables, MARK THEM so you know their purpose. It's very easy to limit the performance of an SSD by using the wrong cable. Just using a USB-A to USB-C adapter with an SSD and a USB 3.2 cable can cut its top speed in half.

Right, and there should have been some thought put into the design or color of those cables, even coloring the ends differently would have made identification easier.

Under certain circumstances, there might be a promotional code. Steve provides good products at good prices, so I'm not looking for codes. I tried some "code services," but they never found codes for anything I bought.

Re: the semis blocking.

The use of 18-wheelers bunching up the traffic is, I believe, unlawful in just about all states in the US. The method does not work to mitigate the flow. It just adds more "merge points" which delays the flow of traffic.

In one instance, I observed a semi driving into the center divider to stay in front of a car that was attempting to "by-pass" the blockers. The semi almost fell over unto its side when the wheels dropped into the drainage ditch. I wish I was still a LEO at that point. I could have had a field day writing up that truck driver. He lucked out because he was not pulling a load and not hitting his brakes.

Well, it worked on Sunday because there wasn't a line of cars racing past me and cutting in later.
