Using Photoshop 7 on an XP machine with a CRT monitor. also have a Pantone Huey and get great results with color.
Don't know how many slides you have to cnvert. I have a Canoscan 9000f. It has a dust and scratch removal function that works quite nice. It has saved me lots of time in touch ups. It also does 35mm and 120 size negatives. If you have a lot of stuff to convert it might b worth your while.
Still shoot film here also. I think film does a way better job. Digital seems to be missing something. I have a Cannon AE1 a Canon Ftb and a Pentax K 1000. Also use my Yashica A medium format. All have been around for a lot of years and work great. I can't see spening a lot of money for a camera that will be outdated a couple years from now.. I can buy a lot of film for what they want for a DSLR.
I bought the ones from Amazon.com They were cheap $49 for a whole bunch. I haven;thad the time to try them yet.

Actually I haven't seen a mosquito here in Kingman since I moved here 12 year ago..... The last time I got bit was in Canyon de Chelly....
What's a mosquito???? move to the desert .. LOL J/K
If it was me I'd keep using film.. You have a bunch of gear that probably works great. Why would you want to invest a lot of money in a camera that will probably be outdated in a couple years.....
Welcome... I also shoot film only and have several cameras.
Do it right the first time.. Pentax K1000 and a roll of Ilford FP4
I've been using a Pantone Huey here.. It's cheap enough and I get great results.
