What lens were you using RR?

but it doesn't. On the upper left hand corner, that is a true slope and contradictally the trees are leaning in the opposite direction and the flowers are like listing to the right while leaning to the left.....BUT it is exactly like that right there as on the right is the river and the trees are exposed to the predominent westerly winds

Sorry Clicker to hear of your Kiki's passing. It is hard for they become a member of the family and the not so perfect are the ones we tend to be the most loving and loved. Enjoy your memories of her.

This is Kiki. She is a silhouette herself. Hope you don't mind...Had to put her down today and will miss her tremendously. She loved my lap and always nudged me when I quit petting her to post my pictures and chat with the UHHs, etc. Kiki was 17 and I got her when she was about 6 months old. Everyone passed her by because she was not "perfect". They didn't see her from the inside. She tolerated over 300 foster kittens in the 10 years I was with Animal Aide and had a love hate relationship with Tom my other rescue cat. We had 16 years of a wonderful friendship. Bless her little heart.

Pat, the church caught my eye. I like the fact that there are distinguishable objects in the background and the church it's self is not in full silhouette allowing some details to show. This gives the image interest and the viewer something to see other than a large black object. Well done.

This is a wonderful set RR. I think the colors are fantastic and the subject is well worth exploring.

Well These display water but it also displays a lack of respect for nature. OK, I'm not a tree hugger but these really bother me basically because when trees are cut along a shore where tides exist, the roots die and they are the main things that help eliminate erosion.....The trees were cut by the town so as people would have a nice view of the river. Sorry for the short story but this one hurts bad

The image composition is wonderful. However I do have to agree with you that the scene is a little dark especially the clouds and hillside. Some times this is cause by how the image is accepted by the server here on UH.

Which print are you referring to?
E Mang wrote:
So glad to hear that! Mine seems to get more complicated. I felt that that B&W was too dark when it showed up on the post. It was not here. Do you agree?

E Mang, I am still around and watching what everyone is doing, however I am practicing the art of observation rather than comment. Life is good getting better each day.

Jim, the last shot of the building and crops in a sunset is wonderful. I would ask you to look at it closely and see that the horizon is almost in the middle of the photo. Do to this it is hard to understand which is your subject the sky or the crops. Would you consider adjusting the horizon up or down to accentuate which is the subject?

Yes, I believe it to be a Red Shouldered Hawk.

Great start on a wonderful subject E Mang.
[quote=E Mang]First my disclaimer. I am not a great abstract photographic artist. I do enjoy it and find it fun. I hope this challenge will lead you down that same road. (Simon and William, I appreciate all the expert help I can get with this challenge.)

Here's a shot I took of the magnolia tree this morning. It's early, it's cloudy and there was a little bit of the early morning fog still hanging in the air.
