 I often have to go back and look before I comment. I just try to make it easy for everyone... some ppl like me post a few times so when they say #3 is a great shot... I wonder which #3 my first post on pg 1 or my second post pages later...
Yeah, me too. I generally go back at least twice, and then forget to post the page number anyway. Funny, I don't remember being absent-minded.
(Gramps pics were on page 14 btw)

1) Barking up the wrong tree is the first attempt at layering, not very good at editing with a computer yet.
2) 2nd attempt at waterdrop - first one was too busy.
3) First attempt at putting a picture in a picture.
Got a lot of learning to do....but I'm not giving up!
Page 20, I think...
First one is great. I love the idea of the shadow of a tree super imposed on the bark of a tree. Very creative. The 3rd one is really neat as well, would have been good in the recent "framed" challenge.
I've been PP for many years, and your first tries already passed me up. Dang.

all of your shots are great.... the color and composition are skilled... I am glad you didn't get "nailed" as you stated.... thank you for posting and we hope you continue to post with us.
Ha!
So I'm not the only one that has trouble remembering page numbers when I reply:-)

Peaceful for sure. Really nice photoart, pun intended.
You did correct.

Comments, critiques, highjacks all welcome.
Now try working with them to make "Art" prints.......
something like these......
The first one I like, and it would look good hanging in my poolroom. The second meets my criteria for a desktop, being black along the top where my icons would go, but it, and the third are not my cup of tea, too much PS'ing for my tastes.
Mine are a little too dark to print and hang in my pool room, unless I had one of those art lights to lighten up the pic. Hmmm.

Very nice. I'll be trying some soon, I hope.
I bought a Stinger [Ultra Stinger] flashlight to use. I also have a cannon of a spotlight that I'll try.[/quote]
I used two lights that came with 2 different battery drill sets. One is a Craftsman 20 volt. It has high, medium and low settings and is rather broad, not focused. The other is a smaller 7 volt but it is far more focused, so much brighter in a narrow focus (spot). The one with 3 settings was a bit of a pain because you have to cycle through all 3 settings, not just on and off. Turned out that was OK, and the broad vs focused worked really well together. It's neat you can walk around in the dark w/o the camera knowing you are there. Gotta remember to turn off the lights though.
Here's one I forgot the camera was looking.
Forgot to turn out the flash light
Wow, hand held, what a great picture that is. You must be a surgeon to have hands that steady.

In my darkroom I produced clean negatives. Yes, I did some cropping and in an emergency, I would burn or dodge a neg that I needed. But no, even my friends that ran pro labs, we did little if any "PP". In face post processing was not part of the vernacular. Did I show my subjects my negatives? Of course not. But 99 times out of a hundre the end product was exactly what came out of the camera. One thing I will admit---I bought bulk 35 mm film, both color and B&W. I rolled my own cassettes and my cost were low so , even then, I shot a lot to get a good one.
In my darkroom I produced clean negatives. Yes, I... (

My wife would love you. She hates PP while I love it. She won't bother to look at my pictures unless I put a white frame around it like all the pics that came from photo hut or kmart:-)

I loved reading all the comments and looking at everyones pictures that have been shared so far. Here are a couple from a foggy frosty morning not so long ago.
Mary, that first pic is awesome when downloaded. (why do they call it downloaded?) It says winter loud and clear. Nice.
Caught it before the wind got in the picture.
I like Appleby Summer Fete No1. The guy on the tractor looks like he was born, raised and will finish on that sweet rig.

Great job. Mine never turn out this nice. Next, light painting landscapes ?
I think I'll stick with simple stuff for now. Not sure I could pull off a landscape in the dark. Inside still's, like these are easy, turn on the light, set up what you want, turn off the lights, repeat until you get something that works. Tough turning lights on and off out side: 8-)
