Thank you for all your nice comments. I was a little hesitant to post this pic as I wasn't sure it would fit in with the caliber of photos most here are used to seeing.

Compared to the quality images posted here this certainly doesn't stand out but for some reason I really like it and wanted to share. I took a shot of a leaping deer in sport mode with my SX-50 and this is the combination of blur and sharpness I got back.

I get 8x10 prints and they come back just fine. I do sometimes wonder if I had the larger image capability if I could sell my images.

I'm pretty satisfied with the images I get with my SX-50. I do a lot of wildlife photography and think I would lose a lot of opportunities if I had to stop and tinker with tripods and lenses. Sometimes you have to be quick and mobile to get the shots. I am posting a sample of the type of image quality I get with my SX-50 and a little sharpening using Lunapic.com a free photo enhancing site I like. I would like your opinions about how much better my image could be using a DSLR camera VS my SX-50. Thank you so much!

You've got to repost this in color. He's to beautiful to be in B&W.

I used the default settings. I use Lunapic.com and used their sharpen function and changed it to B&W there as well.

Mike I simply shot in AV mode at full 50 power optical zoom. The lighting was perfect so I snapped about 8 pics off and kept the best one.

Super shot! Have you tried the burst mode yet? I use that almost all the time now; it will give you several images as the deer moves away. I can provide more info and tips on its use, if you're interested.

Thank you Linda...I have used the burst mode but have had better action shots in sport mode. I use burst mode on stationary objects however because I like the fast shutter speed it provides. Your offer to provide more info and tips in burst mode is very much appreciated!!

This is not the sharpest photo but it is one that made me very happy. I took this in February and I have been trying to capture this image for about 2 years. I would always cut off an ear, a leg or the tip of the tail. I used an SX-50 in sport mode to finally capture this image. It's not centered as I would have liked but she's all there! Thank you for looking!

Hello everybody. I have been enjoying this forum for a few weeks now and finally decided to register. I'm an amateur nature/wildlife enthusiast currently using the SX-50. There is so much to learn here and I look forward to interacting with you all.
