Welcome to Day 93 :) It's Macro Monday on our dedicated challenge month. Since a lot of us don't own macro lens' ... closeups will definitely count. This is one subject I need a lot of practice on. I will be out practicing with my extension tubes today .. but for now I only have close up examples. I look forward to seeing what y'all come up with....:)

Here's a few of mine.

A 300mm isn't enough. Lots of cropping here. These are in NE Wisconsin. They have been here since last fall.

Welcome to Day 90 :) I'm feeling 100% ...and I'm glad to be back. I didn't want to go to the archives .. so I'm a bit lacking in photos for examples. If you
will indulge me one more day I will get out there and make up for lost time. Feel free to post anything that you wish to share. I always try to photograph the
beauty I see ... but somehow I also can't resist the dead and dying in nature. Mother Natures Rejects.

After viewing how-to videos I thought that I would give it a try. These were taken in my kitchen sink.

PG57 - I love dead stuff in nature. It has a different kind of beauty. Great shots.

Norman - your bridge shot is so good!

snowshoe - beautiful flowers, well done.

JParker - those pumps are cool, that looks like a nice place all the way around.

jimber - wow, that is great splashes, very well done!

RR - great Utube - like the music, love the photos, especially how you did b&w and then color on the same photos!

Thank you.

Thank you. The camera is a Nikon D300 with a Nikon 105mm Macro lens. I think that it is the flash unit(s) that make the photos happen (stop the water). The flash is best off camera. My shutter speeds ranged from 1/50 to 1/250.

Very cool water shots! How did you get them to come out so clear and focused? What was your shutter set at?

I'm guessing that you are asking about the water drops. The flash duration stops the drop. The shutter speed just has to sync with the flash. The focus is done in manual with an object (plastic ruler, drinking straw) held where the water drops form.
