As far as I'm concerned "art" is whatever the artists says is "art". Take it or leave it. Everything changes over time.

I'm fairly new here, am retired and live in Minnesota. I've been enjoying reading the posts here.
Since I spend most of my time helping my wife deal with her MS which left her wheelchair bound, most of my photo activity is nearby, or in, or around the house.
There sure is outstanding photo work posted on this site.
I hope to post some photos in the near future.

I usually limit my post processing to cropping, but also enjoy some degree of PP for fun such as HDR or Corel Painter usage.
One time a few years back I took a photo of a young man at the county fair with his prize winning sheep. Since it was a little dark in the barn and I didn't have a tripod with me the image was soft due to camera movement. In post I applied a watercolor filter to the image and made a print. The following year that print won the grand prize in the art competition at the fair. The subjects parents saw the finished print and bought it from me for $200. We were all very pleased with the outcome of this.
