I used to have a friend (now deceased) who was blind in one eye and deaf in his opposite ear. No matter where you stood he either couldn't hear you or couldn't see you. I sure do miss him.
I am an absolute newbie, having purchased a dslr only a few short months ago, but have been able to quickly learn and have taken some wonderful images by reading all the articles posted on digitalphotographyschool.com. It is totally free and they have searchable archives for almost any subject matter you may have questions about, plus some you would never think of.
I also like the first one. Being landlocked in flat corn country, I'm always jealous of those who are near beautiful water or mountains. I find other subjects to shoot in my area but they can't compare to oceans or mountains.
I'm not as experienced as most of these helpful souls who've been answering but I will suggest that you make sure the diopter on the rebel is adjusted properly for your eye. (check your manual)
Thanks for all the comments. I hadn't thought of the possibilities of aliens. Maybe I should start lining my hat with tinfoil so they can't read my thoughts!!!!!!!
I found this dead end road where the county maintenance dept. practices their road striping. There were some interesting markings on the pavement
what do they all mean?
Beautiful photo. I love the composition, the leading line of the dock and the clouds reflected in the water.
Hi organza. As someone new to photography myself, I would recommend the Internet site digitalphotographyschool.com . There is a ton of archived information on almost any subject pertinent to photography. You can do a search on any topic and find easy to understand articles that have been a wonderful help to me. I've been at this for only a short couple of months and have devoured everything I could find in order to understand what seems at first to be a daunting amount of information to learn (especially for someone of near retirement age). DPS.com has helped me to figure it all out in a relatively short time. I hope they can help you too.
This is my first time posting pictures here. These are some of the best of the day
There is a ton of helpful information at digital photography school.com that has been extremely helpful to me, a newbie as well.
Johnny boy - I see you've only recently joined. Welcome. Don't take the flip answers and rudeness as the norm here. I am quite new myself and find that there is a wealth of information and knowledge here. I hope you continue to learn and improve. I have been able to take many tips from DPS and use them to take some wonderful photos (for me anyway). Between learning the camera settings, composition, how to download the photos, trying to understand photo processing, and learning about printing, it can be overwhelming for a newbie. DPS has made it all more easily understood
