Participated in an OnOne Webinar last evening and LR4 with the optimized DNG (PC version) is supposed to be 8 times faster than LR3 when dealing with RAW files.
I have been a photographer, of sorts, for almost 60 years and as I have aged, my views of my photography have changed. I still primarily take pictures for my own enjoyment. My skills and techniques continue to improve, although I do mourn the loss of certain things to progress, i.e. Kodalith and other Kodak films. Bottom line, I take pictures, because I like taking pictures and enjoy when I take a picture that actually comes out the way I want it to. Photography helps make me keenly aware of my surroundings and I truly hope that I never grow up and become old by not seeing things, such as a beautiful sunset or sunrise, with young eyes and thoughts.
Finally some humor. Phobar. Love it!
Don't see the vignetting. Like the pictures.
Am trying to convert my spare SD14 body for use as a UV/IR camera. Have any of you done the conversion or do you know of a company that does conversions on the SD14? All the companies that I have contacted do not. I am not beyond trying to convert the camera myself. I have a spare hot/dust filter, but need to find out the index of refraction, so I can index match the replacement glass. :?: :?:
Got mine. Flying back to the Mainland tonight. Hope it's a good read. Thanks for the heads up. :-)
Been travelling since Sat AM and just getting to the posts. An 87B or Cokin 007 should give you enough of a visible image compose the scene, although probably not enough to allow you to focus well enough in order to convert your visible focus to IR. I would rather have the additional long wavelength red, since I am currently only using B&W for my IR, and be able to compose the photo, than guess at the composition.
My avatar was shot with a 5.1MP Nikon P&S. Blew up beautifully to a 24x36. Take it and run to the nearest photo shoot!

Genuine Fractals has been incorporated into the OnOne Photo Suite (Perfect Resize 7). I have used this as well as Alien Skin BlowUp and find that with either the larger the initial file size the better the final results.
Absolutely hilarious. I haven't laughed so hard in ages. Many thanks from the little people. In Hawaii they are called Menehunes.
Best use of model RR figures I've seen in a while. Very original and humorous. ;-)
Best use of model RR figures I've seen in a long time. Sorry for the double post. It appeared as if the first post didn't post. ;-)
With 6 drivers, would Thomas not be an 0-6-0? I'm modeling the DL&W from the 40's and 50's in Northern Jersey.
Aloha and welcome to the forum. Am a displaced Kama'aina from Oahu and get back 3 times a year with camera.
