I have taken many photos in Rockport with my 18-135. Great all around lens if you only want to carry 1 lens. My recommendation.
2 views of the Matterhorn.

I have the X-T2 and 3 lenses. I am blown away at the quality of the 18-55 for color, sharpness and overall clarity. It gives you versatility. I just ordered the 10-24 and can't wait to use it. Another great lens is the 35mm, f2.0 prime. I also have the 55-200 but haven't used it a lot yet.
Thank you everyone who responded. Appreciate it and confirmed my gut feelings. I ordered the lens from B&H, which always works. BTW, if you have never been to their super store in NYC I would highly suggest a pilgrimage to their store if you find yourself in NY. It never fails to blow me away and everyone is very nice and helpful.
rwilson, thanks for the site. Sort of what I figured. B&H, here I come; another grand into your revenue stream.
Thanks for the info. Fuji 10-24mm OIS lens. $999 at B&H, $749 at SLR Direct. I usually purchase all equipment from B&H, but a $250 difference has me questioning.
Anyone use this company for photographic equipment? I ask because a lens I want to buy is $250 less on this site than B&H, Adorama, etc.
My wife insists they are the state flower of Colorado. Not true, it's the Columbine.
It is such a beautiful time in the mountains thought I would share some images taken yesterday in Telluride, CO. This weekend is the Telluride Mountainfilm festival. Wonderful opportunity for photographers and videographers of all levels to experience some of the most magnificent creative works currently making the rounds. This year's Theme is "Climate Change." For anyone interested, go to Mountainfilm.org and see for yourself.
Great shots. One of my favorite places on earth.
Never had any problems traveling to Europe with camera equipment in a carry on.
I just purchased the Fuji X-T2 for exactly the same reason. I take 2 lenses with me, the 18-55 and 35mm 2.0 prime. Fits in a very small Think Tank case which I can easily fit into a carry-on case. Images on this camera are phenomenal. I am a life-long Canon user with a few DSLR bodies and lenses. Cumbersome for travel unless you are driving. I am a Fuji convert. A little on the expensive side but if you are serious about the quality of your images along with small and convenient equipment, I highly suggest this camera.
The Opera House in Sydney is spectacular during the Vivid Sydney festival going on now. The Matterhorn is always a good triangle shot.
I did that cruise 2 years ago. In my humble opinion you will be bogged down with equipment overload. I use a Canon 70d for travel. Took along a wide 10-20, my Canon 70-200 and my 18-135. All I needed and used was the 18-135. It's your trip so take what you like. I recently purchased the Fuji X-t2 with the 18-55 lens exactly for this purpose, a lightweight traveling camera. I got tired of lugging all the gear around. It's a great trip, enjoy!
Not necessarily true. I was there last weekend. Apart from some road construction the arches are still standing and look the same. They do have limited hours Sunday thru Thursday. Get there on Friday and Saturday and you will be good. Yes, there are crowds and this is a busy time of year. And, the hotel rates are getting ridiculous.
