It would be a very difficult choice between Ben Franklin and Thomas Jefferson as I would love to be in presence of such brilliant and perceptive men. Their wisdom has endured and applies to this day.

You seem pretty enamored of Bill O'Reilly, so why not Bill on the bill.

"Remember... Four boxes keep us free: the soap box, the ballot box, the jury box, and the cartridge box."

Just read your 'signature' and immediately cracked up.

I am sad that the media hores have everyone so scared of terrorist, it is instilled in your brains. Wow you are as likely to win the power ball as killed by a drone unless of course it is one of ours.Free your mind.

Actually, I think that we do not know the half of what is going on in the world, especially as it affects the Great Satan (the U.S.). The government controlled media is very selective about what we see & hear on most radio & TV stations, and read in the newspapers. Check out Canadian news webpages and you will see that they know more about what is going on than we do in this country.

Generally, I am a very big supporter of our Constitutional rights, especially the First and Second Amendments, however, there is an inherent danger with drones from Terrorists or others with nefarious purposes. From the moment that I first heard that civilians were flying drones I could see the hazards, first to aircraft, then to national security and then to personal security. I have nothing to hide from anyone, however, I would not particularly care to have a drone hovering over my property and would consider it trespassing and in need of elimination by whatever means I may have at hand. Drones should be limited to military and police use only. I'm sure my stance on this will be roundly attacked, but think about what I've said, first. Don't think the Terrorists aren't this very minute working on ways to utilize drones to bring this country and other countries around the world to their knees.

Apparently there are many lighthouses like that along the coast of France, and one wonders how they did build them?
You can check them out here:

This is extremely good, I really like it, the suggestion was to get it closer to Kinkade's style if that was your aim.
I like Kinkade's work, it is just pretty, nostalgic and restful. I also love Norman Rockwell.
I guess the"real artiests" would look down on me and my taste as being plebeian. Tough, they can sit around and tell each other how much superior they are. It doesn't make it so.

Art is what appeals to you personally, and not what happens to be in vogue at the moment. When people are paying thousands of dollars for the dabblings of chimps and elephants, don't ever feel you know nothing about art. Artists wouldn't have a venue without us, the appreciators.

You can get all that fancy woodwork in vinyl now from Harvey Industries, and they have the fancy cut shingles in vinyl, too. We have some lovely old Victorian mansions in our area that it seems as soon as they finish painting it they have to start at the beginning as it takes so long. One side per year.

If you ever venture up to the NE, Newport, NH, has a tremendous amount of restored Victorian homes, all sizes, and just loaded with "ginger-bread". Loved your picture and the sketched look.

My son is 42 and he swears that I grew up in the best times possible, and I'm inclined to agree. We had a childhood, which unfortunately the kids today do not have because their parents would be horror struck at letting their kids go off sledding, skating, hiking, with other kids in the neighborhood. We didn't have to worry so much about the child molesters that are so prevalent today. On a Saturday or on summer days we were off for the whole day if we packed a fluffernutter sandwich. But, we always knew that our mothers would be home when we did go home. We all watched out for each other and there didn't seem to be the problem with bullying that there is today. I wouldn't want to be growing up today. The kids do not seem to have much real fun. Their time is structured, and their moms pick their friends with 'play dates', school yard games are a thing of the past. And they wonder why so many kids are on Ritalin today. Years ago we were free to get out and get rid of all that excess energy that seems to be just bottled up in kids today, so they call them hyper-active and slip them little yellow pills. Sad, just sad.

Interesting photo. You timed the angle of those shadows perfectly for the effect.
