There are only a few zooms that are true macro & they have long been discontinued. At best, this is a close focus lens. I doubt that it could be a "flat field" lens as all true macro lenses are..As for how it's IQ is, I don't know. I do know about macro lenses though.

Thank you so much for you info. Shang

It is by no means a macro lens, they call it that, because it can focus from a short distance, that comes close to the distances used by macro lenses. But if you'll like to shoot macros, get a lens that is capable to shoot 1:1. But the close focusing capabilities come in very handy in a fish-eye none less, as that will give you the ability to really emphasize foreground elements in your shots!

Thank you so much for your input. Shang

Here is a view less than a mile from the home place. During the snowcovered winter on many gray days the horizon simply disappears.
This image seemed appropriate for a haiga ( a traditional form of Zen-inspired art ..a combination of a simple image with a related traditional haiku poem.

the traditional haiku of Japan is composed of 17 "onji" (NOT syllables...oonji are more akin to phonemes in western languages.) the so-called American or English school book haiku with its 17 syllables strictly arranged in three lines of 5,7,and 5 syllables is far more information dense than is the more elegantly simple and condensed thought expressed by a traditional haiku.
For example, the word plow, one syllable in English, would be composed of four " onji" in Japanese; "farmer", two syllables in english, would contain four to six "onji" depending on the accent of who is doing the counting.

The haiku of this haiga has only nine syllables (but about 16 "onji")and is much more spare of detail than the usual "American school book haiku" which are considered coarsely and excessively wordy by haiku scholars.
