Australia, in the South East -
Taken on a backyard safari at the bath
Late night PP effort. Original a not particularly successful image taken with hi ISO on a dull day. Dull grey birds (Crested Pigeons) against a dull grey sky.
Hi PhotoKurtz - If cost is an issue, you might look at the EF 15 f2.8 too. It is a fish eye but can do some nice interior,
and exterior shots, and the fish eye is mild enough to be worth correcting. If you are competing for business, then you might want to look at the EF 11-24. It is the most expensive of Canon's Wide Angle lenses, but it can produce interior images that are a bit more difficult to capture with much else.
And this one of the Murray River - about 1000 miles due south of Blackall. Camped here in the Police Paddocks.
"A billabong is an oxbow lake, an isolated pond left behind after a river changes course. Billabongs are usually formed when the path of a creek or river changes, leaving the former branch with a dead end. Billabongs, reflecting the arid Australian climate in which these "dead rivers" are found, fill with water seasonally and are dry for a greater part of the year". Wikipedia
Camped beside this one a while back, out of Blackall (pop <2000) n Central Queensland.
So this is not a common sight in Australia, but I was passing this house and they had this hand knitted pole cover over this old wooden telegraph pole in their backyard. It certainly brightens up the street. They had to get the Emergency Services with a powered ladder appliance over to put it on. Certainly puts a smile ion the face of people passing by.
Yep - You're right denis2146. Had a quick look at the Zoo's list of exhibits and I found its a Barbary Sheep, referred to by the people of North Africa as Aoudad. Thank you.
Hi DavidPhares
I have an EF 70-200, and an EF 100-400.
I find the Mk III Canon extender is usable on the EF 70-200 but sometimes frustrating because of IQ and focus speed. So best on a still subject, and in very good light. The EF 100-400 is better than that combo. The difference to my eye being greater than that of the EF 100-400 and the EF 100-400 II without extenders.
I also find that nearly all Canon lens/Canon extender combinations work better a bit better on a 1D body. I assume its the power supply.
But I do find that both the extenders are very handy to have, but I'm using the x1.4 more than ten times the x2. I also use them to increase close up magnification.
