Hello jederick,

I live in Telluride and yes, it is indeed a very magical place. Good shots of the deer and Lizard Head. Don't know where you live but if you have the opportunity to come back the last week in September or first week in October, the photographic opportunities are phenomenal. Herds of Elk abound and the fall foliage (Aspens, Cottonwoods) is breathtaking. John Fielder, perhaps Colorado's pre-eminent landscape photographer conducts his Fall Foliage Workshops here every year, the first weekend in October. Worth the time and effort; check out his website. Thanks for visiting our spectacular corner of this country. Love to see you come back.

I have been using the 18-135 on my Canon 70D for years with great results. When traveling I usually take 3 lenses but 95% of the time just use what's attached to the camera, the 18-135. The older I get and the more I travel, the less I want to carry around a suitcase or backpack full of equipment. Certainly your choice but my opinion is you will do quite well with the one lens. Good luck and have a ball.

Somewhere on this site I read a post about someone going to North East Canada, Nova Scotia and PEI. Thought I would post a couple images of Peggy's Harbor taken at sunset in August. Wonderful, colorful, delightful photographic location.

Regarding prohibition on photography inside European Cathedrals, Abbey's, etc. for the most part you are ok as long as you do not use flash. High ISO settings work fine along with a steady hand. There are a few (St Marks in Venice is one) that do not allow any photography.

Hi Mark,

I was on a similar cruise 2 years ago. Took a Canon 70D with 18-135 Lens. All I needed and I got many great images worthy of putting on a wall. I have since purchased the Fuji XT-2 for similar type trips with the 18-55, 10-24 and 35mm 2.0 lenses. Everything fits into a small bag with also holds 3 batteries, the charger and memory cards. It took me a long time to find the "perfect" photographic "tool kit" that fits my needs and style but also produces spot-on high quality images. And although I also have the Fuji 55-200mm lens, I leave that at home and forgoe those few long-range shots which would require the heavier lens. European river trips are wonderful and you won't be lost about finding great images. Enjoy your trip and good luck with your equipment decisions. It really is very personal.

That's getting out of my price range. Let me know what you find.

Within the past month I have had quality issues with Bay Photo. However, their customer service in resolving the issues has been wonderful. And I have learned a lot about what works best for my photography and their printing processes. I will use them again for the printing that works for me. In the meantime, I continue to experiment with other printers and different photographic print media. Regarding printing your own photos, I use a Canon Pro 100 for smaller prints on photo paper. I agree with Hal81. If you are printing 8X10 or up to 13X19, there are great printers for reasonable pricing.

Size of prints? Media - paper, metal, acrylic, canvas, etc???? I have personally had some great luck over the years along with some real duds. Like everything, printers are not all equal; some much better than others in reproducing the image as you like. Costco, Walmart, etc can give you prints. But if you are looking for high quality professional printing, you need to do some due diligence. Send in a digital file and have them reproduce it and send you a proof. A good printer (or printing company) will gladly do this. One of the best I have found? Laserlight Prints in Aptos, CA. Small shop, great attention to detail and spot-on prints. Good luck.

Know that spot well. Your capture is very nice. Was that shot in July around the time of the Crested Butte wildflower festival? Do you know who the instructor was? Just curious.

I recently moved away from Canon for all the reasons you suggest. I went with the Fujifilm X-T2 with 18-55, 10-20 and 55-200 after I did a bunch of research. I also threw in the 2.0 35mm prime. Best purchase I have ever made. Lightweight easy to work and absolutely wonderful images (the most important part). All of that is more than $2000 but you can get the Body and the 15-55 lens for under $2000. At least look at this option. Don't think you will be disappointed.
