I have a D200 Nikon that I have been using for a long time. It has done a great job and taught me a lot. Still in perfect condition with very low image count.
I really want to upgrade.
My question is with the 18/200 VR and 70-300 VR lens I have now work on the 7100?
I'd like to buy just the body due to cost. I could get a kit, but if my present lens will work I could save a ton of money.
Any help appreciated.

I have both of these lenses and they work fine on my D7100.

What saved my little Yamaha from destruction was a year later I got my first 'big" bike, a 1965 Triumph Bonneville. Sadly, I sold the Triumph when I went on a little trip to the other side of the world in 1969.

I concur!!! there is always the living room!! 30 years ago I only had a carport, so I parked my shovel head in the living room,

I forgot to mention bike #6. It's actually bike #1, my first bike. It's a 1964 Yamaha Trail 80. It's sometimes hard to remember that I was small enough 50 years ago to fit on that little bike. The H.S. girlfriend and I put a lot of miles on it back in the day. It's been retired for a long time and now enjoys its golden years displayed in my living room.

Don't worry, I had to ask too. When I found out what the letters stood for, I realized it was an affliction I've had for a long time. I just didn't know what it was called.

You probably know this, but motorcycles are also a cause for GAS.

I have my Bike GAS somewhat under control only because there is no room left for more bikes (5) in my garage and I don't have the space to build a larger garage.

I had a hole in my focal lengths! so I have been looking at 70-200mm lenses,
you know how it starts
1st, you get an idea!
2nd you go online and start looking at lenses {knowing you have the money rat holed for just an episode! but telling your self you can't afford it!!}
day 3 and 3rd on the list you go to Nikon {or canon depending on what you use} and look at "ALL the lenses wishing you could have at least half of them, but then I digress, and start looking in the focal lengths your interested in, knowing full well they are expensive!!
day 4 and 4th on the list you decide to go to sigma and tamron and look at the lenses and compare!
day 5 and 5th on the list go to e-bay {knowing full well a used one is as much as a new one, but you look anyways!!!
day 6 and 6th on the list, now your chompping at the bit, you have to have it at any cost, hands are clammy, got the cold sweats, mouth is dry, you just can not drink enough coffee!!! you have buzzing in your ears and can't sleep!!!!
day 7 and 7th on the list. "you pull the trigger", your chest gets tight {hoping it is not a heart attack!!} mouth is really dry, the ringing in your ears is so load you are sure your wife can hear it!!!!!!
then in an instant it is all over, you write down the confirmation number, run to the front door and sleep on the couch next couple days waiting for a brown truck!!!
wwwhhheeeeeuuuuu!
thanks for listening! gas attack almost over!!

I just went through all the steps you did except when I got to the end, my link was different.

After all, I needed something to go with the D7100 I got three weeks ago. Oh yeah, with that 70-200 on the way, I needed a new bag too. I found this link helped to reduce my GAS... for now.

Had a great day watching the Fleet Week activities from the deck of the Fireboat Guardian on San Francisco Bay. Thought I'd share a few images for the aviation & Maritime buffs. The Jeremiah O'brien is the last fully operational Liberty Ship and actually sailed to Europe for the 50 yr anniversary of "D-Day". It leaves the pier once or twice a year now for celebration cruises. Usually a floating museum.

Hope its not too big a set for your liking.

Real nice shots.

Here's a freighter coming out of the fog on the St. Clair River near my home yesterday morning. The American Spirit was heading to Detroit.

I just saw my brother. He said the bar I was talking about was called the L&L #2. He remembers that night well. His big brother and Company Commander made a pretty memorable impression. In '81 he was at Great Lakes for a few weeks waiting for orders to his next ship, USS Luce (DDG-38). He said Jonesy's sounds like a place they frequented.

Naw, I was in San Diego...I was in school there in early 76'....I might have run across him if he was a regular at Jonesy's on 14th street....Most of the school crowd hung out there,,,,,(OOPS!!! You said he was a recruit, right....LOL)

The day he graduated from boot camp, I took him and a couple of his buddies to a bar not too far from the main gate that was like a small training center for Subic Bay, complete with bar girls and their watered down drinks. We even ran into his Company Commander there. We all had a great old time, Alba and I telling the "youngsters" sea stories about Subic and other exotic places we had been to, comparing tattoos, etc. I don't remember the name of it or exactly where it was, but it wasn't far. Good times, good times.

We didn't coming in, but we sure looked alike when we left. Were you at Great Lakes in '76? My brother was in boot camp that summer. I think his company commander's name was Alba.

I served aboard Forrestal from May 1967 to August 1969 as an Aviation Ordnanceman in G-Division. I made the 1967 WestPac cruise and the 1968-69 Med cruise. A lot of good memories and a lot of good friends. I'm still in contact with some to this day.

My company commander at Great Lakes in '68 was an ABE1 on the Forrestal in '67 when she burned. His name was Hogan. Our company was known as Hogan's Heroes.
