Thanks for sharing these. I have not tried to purchase a used lens yet. What do you look for when purchasing an older lens? :)

I agree, it is unfortunate that Ricoh is not pushing their products. My new K-3 has wonderful features that may be unique to Pentax. I have not spent a lot of time following the competition to be able to discuss the differences though.

My most used lens is the Pentax DA18-135mm, my next favorite is the DA 50mm f/1.8. It is very sharp. I have been very satisfied with my two kit lens the DA18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 and the DA50-200mm f/4-5.6. My biggest disappointment was the *DA16-50 f/2.8. It was very heavy and has not aged well. I have paid once to have it repaired after the warranty and it needs it again. It makes me question if I will ever again purchase a Pentax lens with a SDM focusing drive.

Thank you for sharing. The light bar is a great idea too. :)

Before any of you go off on me, I'm NOT trying to start a conflict as to which is better. I'm just curious to find out how many share my experienced with the brand and what particular models they use.

I'm always amused at how vociferous many who shoot "OTHER" brands become when they get even a slight hint that there's a perceived slam against their favorite. Chill, my brothers and sisters. That's not what this is about. ;)

A day late, but I wanted to add my two cents. I have a Pentax K-7 and a Pentax K-3. I originally purchased my Pentax K-7 as it was the best bang for the buck. I got a weather sealed camera and two good kit lens for less that the price of a comparable body of the main competitors. I am a old Minolta 35mm user and always wished for a Nikon but they were too proud. I am very happy with both bodies and the Pentax lens I have purchased over the years. My only issue is that the camera is much more sophisitcated than I am. But I keep puttering along, continue to learn and really enjoy my hobby. I get a lot of very good information from this site. Thanks to all for the various inputs and knowledge. :)

Thanks, I should have used my PC in lieu of the iPad to reply. I might have had fewer typos.

My lLightroom instructor provided the following analogy. A public library is a suppository for books and also contains a card catelogue that cross references information about the books in the library. It provides the means to determine the location of s specific book or books based on you search criteria. Lightroom creates a catalog database file of the photos you import to the catalogue It copies the image file to the location you specify. Subsequently it acts as the card catalogue for your images to allow you to search for specific images. The catalogue data base is normally found in the Lightroom sub-directory in your Pictures sub-directory and has the suffix " .lrcat"
