I bought an old fashoned rubbber toilet plunger, cut the bottom to fit on my lens and hold the rubber against the glass. It eliminates any reflections.
I'm convinced that MM is the way for me to go.I joined and was approved.... but now I don't know how to contact them and have them contact me. Anyone want to help a befuddled fotog?
I'm a stock photographer and always looking for new models. Recently two of my main people left... health and marriage... and I found myself looking hard for replacements. I was recenty approved as a memeber of Model Mayhem but I have some hesittations about using it. Anyone have any experience with them?
I've been using a BushHawk "rifle stock" for over ten years and I swear by it. Made in San Diego, CA, it is compact and light. I use it with my 500 canon lens. google it for more specs
I hit SEND prematurely. This is how I do it... and possibly wrong.
I place the card next to the model's face and shoot. I then use that as my model WB. In PSE or PS I then sample the gray from that shot using the eye dropper and use it as my WB. Right or wrong? Help please
Okay, we have covered WB for Nikon but now let's go to the procedure for Canon.
No, but that's a great idea.... if I can find a used lighthouse on
E-Bay I'll bet I could really light up that seamless.
That was supposed to read "four fluorescent BULBS"
Thanks to all. my logic in "building a light" backwards is that, being child of the Great Depression, I am always tring to do things on the cheap. The reflector was free and if I can rig a "socket" of some kind, (preferably one that will house four fluorescent bulds) I thnk I'll have an awesome light source for my background lights.
someone gave me a reflector dish and barn doors with a diffuser attached. My problem is what do I put in the hole for a light (continuus please) and how do I attach it to a stand. The name on the barn door is ARCOR LIGHT. The dish is 16" across and 7 1/2" deep. I plan to use it to light the seamless paper in my background. I went to ARCOR page but I don't see anything that looks like the one I have. The donor is getting old and not sure exactly what it loked likewhen it was new and he no longer has any more of the parts.. Anyone help me? Thanks to all
Don
I tell the borrowers that if they want to borrow something they have to leave their drivers license as collateral. Nothihg lent yet!
A few years ago I got into the stock trade. Getting accepted was a chore but persistance paid off. I now contribute to iStock (exclusievly) and I like them ... they are owned by Getty. I found that I learned a great deal from shooting stock. Will you get rich? Go get a paper route or work at McDonalds. There are some great photogs that make a living from stock... so give it a shot. Nothing to lose
No Hando... that's not me holding the umbrella. That's Alison.. a dancer, singer and stage actor.... and a great model
Thanks to everyone for the kind words.I aways appreciate a good constructive critique. Thanks again and happy to be on board.
I'm a Stock Photography nut and contrubute to one of the largest companies in the world. It's an obsession with me but a good one. I'm a Canonista and most of my lenses are also from them. I shot with a 5DMkII
