Dear Chef, I cannot say were or not to buy a extended warranty. But I will relate to you my experience. I purchased three cameras two video and one E series Olympus from Circuit City some years ago. They went out of business leaving me with about $1200.00 5 year extended warranty. This I found to difficult and expensive to collect. When a dealer talks to me about warranties he is talking to a deaf ear. There are to many good camera repair companies out there if you look with caution.

I have an E-500 and also have a 50mm 1:2 macro. At least that is what is written on the lens. I am told that some lense are only a magifying lens although marked as a mirco. I could achieve better pictures if I purchased a true macro lens. I have searched but cannot find the definition of a true macro. Or a so called macro to fit my camera. Can someone help me.

I recently purchased a 70 X 300 4 3 connection lense for my E-500 DSLR camera. I wish to make photographs of train trusses in the distance. . Can I purchase a multiplier? If so where? Will it work satisfactorily? Does anyone know anything this that would help me.

I thank you Snowbird for the information about Keh.com in Smyrna. They were very helpful and suggested I call Olympus. I did and found my lense to still be under warranty. They fixed it over the phone by havng me enable the AF switch that is on the lense. It had become disabled somhow. I will use Ken.com later on I am sure, they are fine people

I am new to photography I purchased a 70x300mm lense for my E= Olympus. Not long after that the AF quit working. I found it was not the camera it was the lense. Does anyone know if there a place near Atlanta that will repair my lense or am I better off with MF. I only have trouble when the object is moving. I seem to get good photography with MF Should I purchas a new lense of try to find someone to repair it.

Are you talking about the micro lense when you refer to them as the mini lense? I have an E-500 and have purchased many lenses . I have been pleased with it and would buy an upgrade in a minuet. If it was not for Olympia's financial problems. Or if I am able to make sense of this terminology and how to use the mini, micro or 4 3 systems connection with other cameras and understand the interchangeability of external flash and other accessories to another brand or body. I now think I understand an adapter ring is needed to use the micro lense on the E-system's body. Will an external flash adapt to any other camera?

I have an E-500 Olympus. I understand it uses 4 3 system lense.
When I go to buy a new lense I am warned that micro 4 3 and the 4 3 system is different and one will not fit the other. Do I understand that correctly?

I own an E-500 Olympus and I wish to upgrade to at least a 12 pix body. But because of Olympia's problems I am reluctant to upgrade with them to the E-5. But I have several 4/3 connection lenses. Can anyone recomend a body that I can purchase that will accommodate these lenses, i.e what other camera bodies will fit the 4/3 connection and produce good photography.
