not sure if this helps, I use BBF, when I take a photo then look at it{in view finder}, sometimes I just go back to taking a photo, what happens is when there is a photo in the view finder and I press the AF-l/AE-L button it locks the photo!!
then later I could not delete photos, I finally figured out that you view the photo push the AF-L/AE-L button again and it will un lock photo, {you can tell if its locked , by a little key up in the right hand corner}

don't know if this helps , and you may already know this!!!

good luck!!!

Thanks. I was wondering why some of the photos on my D7100 were locked.

Edit: Guess I should have read the entire thread. No harm, I needed another excuse to take the D7100 out of the bag and look at it, especially now that it has that nice 70-200 f/2.8 attached to it. :-D

Nice old cars and bike. The one between the Model T Ford and the Douglas motorcycle is a Frazer Nash. I'm not sure what year.

The Luce was home ported in Mayport too. He was also on the USS Bagley FF-1069 out of San Diego in the late 70's.

I use the Cowboy sling strap from Amazon, comfortable, keeps the camera to the side, attaches to the tripod mount. Very affordable.

What ship were you on? My brother was an HT2 on the USS Luce DDG-38 back in 81-85. They went to the Persian Gulf in 84.

OEM camera straps are not very comfortable in use. What brand/model aftermarket have you tried and recommend? Please list pros/cons. Thank you!

This is the strap I use on my cameras. Well made and affordable.

Greetings to all!.....excited to be here. I've been reading UHH since this past July and totally addicted. A new forum posts every morning at around 5:30am and I find myself eagerly seeking same within minutes. Wonder what that says about me?

I bought my first camera, a 35mm Nikkormat in 1974, as a high school sophomore. Unfortunately, my beloved hobby was rudely interrupted when my humble camera was stolen in 1976, right before my graduation.

Life, work and other "distractions" kept my love of photography on the sidelines until late June of this year; a 38 year hiatus! Following a lifetime of varying struggles and success, I bought a D5300 kit just prior to boarding an Alaskan cruise in Seattle.

Been enjoying UHH since then and this is my first posting. To all here whom have provided much wisdom and inspiration, thank you.

I might add that I've already experienced my first few GAS attacks! All of this made tougher on me as I work within easy walking distance to Adorama in NYC, a very tempting candy store indeed!!

Looking forward to learning and exploring.

Welcome from another newcomer. Even though I'm in Michigan, I too am within walking distance to Adorama. The latest package from them will be arriving this morning at the post office right across the street from my house.

6. Additional photo op: Hendersen Field is next door. F-22 Raptors are based there. I watched several come in low over the harbor in a screaming turn to line up for landing. Grab your long lens, find a bench on the visitor center grounds, and you could get lucky. Or, take a drive down Lagoon Drive next to the airport to get shots of both Air Force and commercial departures.
Have fun!

#6 That's Hickam Field. Henderson Field is on Guadalcanal.

I'm in the process of purchasing an new MacBook Air, 128 GB. It has an SSD, rather than a regular hard drive. What I'm wondering is how this computer will be for managing and editing photos. I also realize that 128GB isn't a very large drive, so I will, no doubt be forced to keep the ones I want to do something with and load everything onto an external HD or thumb drives. I'd use SD cards, but large capacity ones are pretty expensive. Any advice on this particular computer?

I ran out of room on my Time Capsule for my Time Machine backups, so earlier today I purchased a Seagate Slim 2TB at Best Buy for $129. It's USB 3.0 and is a lot faster than wi-fi backups to the Time Capsule. It's working great and I'm sure it would be just what you need for your MacBook Air.
