Gee it's so great I bought one.... Thanks for the link.....

I'M really a Nlkon type guy (D-80 and a D-600) but was looking for a camera that I can use as an expendable to burn up frames doing time lapse type shots.

First off, I'm not particularly interested in turning my hobby into a job. I haven't sold any photos since I was freelancing more than forty odd years ago. I'm not in a photography club, and am not into photo competitions. I entered one big Contest many years ago, placed second, won a bit of cash. That I could win, was enough, haven't done it since.
What I did start to do last year was take the absolutely best shots I am capable of and give them away.
Last year, to a local theatre group, and a Rodeo organizer. This year again to the theatre group, the VFD, the Shidoni Foundry and 3 Faces of Jazz in Santa Fe. Costs me very little to get contact info, burn a DVD and mail the shots off. Though I'm not planning on a huge number of events, I do intend to keep doing it now and then. Seems like a way to pass around a little enjoyment. What do you think of the idea?

That's just what I do with all of my photo's ,,,,,,

I am brand new at this. I just got a D7100 Nikon a few months ago. I love the idea of astrophotography and light painting. Looking for perfect lighting and shooting anything in it is exciting to me. I hope to learn from others here and look forward to many great conversations!

Here is a picture I took with my old Pentax camera.

The weather has been very cloudy and wet lately so I haven't had a chance to do any Moon shots...
I dug into my archives and came up with a Moon closeup that I took about a year ago...
this image was previously posted but this photo has been enlarged more than it's previous posting...

The Moon shot was taken with my Canon 60D using my Tamron 150-600mm lens with two teleconverters attached...
I'll also included a photo of my camera setup that I use when photographing the Moon...

Great moon shots, thanks for posting, l always enjoy anything about space.

What is the blue thing on top of your camera, and what do you use it for.

Thanks again

But he didn't get away.
Zeus, the God of the skies, tried to shield him, but the lens is relentless.

Lens set at 10mm
Shot a 4 frames per minute, 10 seconds of open shutter at an ISO of 3200. 15 second cycles.
One battery pair change around 02:00 Hrs. Almost 12 hours of run time.
2,777 frames shot, 195 tossed (daylight, and a flare to mark where the battery change took place).
Refining my method, I found this shutter burner to have smoother results than previous attempts.
The camera catches what we miss.
At times there were clouds moving in two directions as lower ones moved West, while higher ones moved North above them.
I suggest it be viewed full screen, and speakers on.
ENJOY! ;)

Pain in my legs has been keeping me awake for a few weeks now. And the sudden flashes of pain during the day—shooting from my knee to my hip and down to my ankle— have me crawling up the walls.
I finally made an appointment for a physical so I could address that and other issues.
So I got an email from my doctor and she told me that I had early osteoarthritis in my right knee. I also had my hip x-rayed because the pain there is unbearable at times. But nothing showed on the x-rays.

When my son heard the news, his response was “No offense, but some of my teachers who are really old are always complaining about that.

My doctor offered me steroid shots, but I’m not sure about that. She also offered to put in a consult for ortho—that made me recall the 2 months of disability I had in my 20’s for an issue with my right knee. The doctor told me I’d be in a wheelchair before I hit 60.
I don’t know about that, but considering the difficulty I’m having getting around most days, I’d say a cane is a certainty.

And to add insult to injury, the kids were playing with an app that takes your picture and predicts your age. It guessed 81 for my picture.

Well hang in there, that apps not worth the code it's built from, my kids have the same app it said I was 42 and I'm really 84......

Go for the steroids, they worked for me...

Relief, it's here.
I did encounter one problem...

After I put the batteries in (Thought I was going to be forced to look in the manual for the receiver), set the timer functions, mounted the receiver on my camera and plugged it in...
I switched it on and had blinky Lights, Timer function, Countdown.....
No shutter release.... :hunf:
 Had to laugh at myself...
After a while I found that the receiver was on Ch 1...
Hummm, the sender on Ch 4...
Switched it and like Jackie Gleason use to say, "Away we goooo..."

It works now and I think I should go play...

If I get stuck, I can always read the manual, right?

As an X computer weenie my old saying was...

If it don't work read the manual..

If it still don't work follow the manual..

I've torn apart everything I took to the Blood Moon event.
I can't find it anywhere!
I do know when it will magically show up though...

About the time it's replacement gets here from Amazon on Sunday.
Wireless, this time.

I hate it when that happens!
Forced gas.

Hey Sonny..

Guess what after an evening getting all the camera gear together last night for a photo session this morning, arising at OH-DARK-30 I could not find my camera remote NO where.
So I have a bunch of photos that look like double exposures of the moon planet line up......

This was a simple remote for my Nikon D80 not an Intervalometer like you have, but it did work. I know it's around here some place as I last put it in a spot where I could find it, YA SURE

What brand of Intervalometer do you use ? ? ? I need to get one some day...

I did a search On B&H for an Intervalometer and got some
450 hits, I need one for my Nikon D600....

Wish you luck in your search...

Ever wonder how they did the music for The Good, the Bad & the Ugly?
It is cool to see how it was made after all these years.
Some of you may not be old enough to remember this classic from the '60 's. Here it is anyway.
This is fantastic. Turn it up nice and loud and enjoy.
For those still caught in the '60s groove -- this is the answer to how that magnificent signature tune came about...
Superb....wait till the guy whistles!!!
